Laundry day

Post by GhostSpider »

Wow, it has been a busy ten days. Busy in a good way though. Here's an overview: we crushed a cult, saved some damsels, defenestrated a cult leader, destroyed some golems, generously redistributed some wealth, saved a town, and that was all before the weekend (which was even busier).

It all started on laundry day...

At first glance, the town of Schuyler, NC had little to offer. Still, all we were really interested in was the Suds O'matic. Living in a winnebago with 4 other people and no washing machine, means that the first stop in any town we passed through was the laundry place.

Anyhow, this one was open 24 hrs a day, which was good because we didn't get into town until after 1 AM on Monday. The suds O'matic was dead. The only people there was the night manager and us. Now doing your laundry is time consuming, so we all had to find something to keep us busy. I brought in my laptop, put in a dvd and watched some of the best tv show ever made: Mystery Science theater 3000.

We were 3/4 way done with our laundry when the doors slammed open and a young girl in a bloodstained white dress came running in, screaming for help. Then things got really interesting.....

Gosh darnit! My clothes get washed plenty often! I just avoid Laundromats now! Last time I went in one I ended up in the Land of Nightmares!

Even before my little misadventure with Bert, I and my team have had a few weird encounters in or near Laundomats. They just seem to attract trouble.

I think that Laundromats are the Trailer Parks of the Urban Sprawl. Except instead of attracting tornados they attract weird shit.

And Russia wasn't that bad. The company was good at least :D
