Re: Adventures in Libya, The Talus

We had to move our investigation deeper into the desert. The thief who had stolen our artifact had planted, as it turns out, several other fakes in our dig site. We are now 90% certain that we know who did these things, but we do not know why. These fakes have contaminated the entire dig site, and a...

Re: Adventures in Libya, The Talus

Yes, a golem. I can not rule out this hypothesis. I did not feel a presence of magic energy that I would have expected from such a device, but it could have been there and I just did not notice. I will let you know if any matching evidence of golemancy is to be found at the dig site. Hannah, you are...

Adventures in Libya, The Talus

Greetings to all my friends, Something very mysterious happened today in the desert, and my face was nearly blown off my head. It may be related to a new species of supernatural creature. I should begin by explaining where I am. Hello from beautiful Libya. My new job at the university allows me to t...

Re: The Official List of the Fallen

In Arabic, we do use the term "martyr," but it has a different definition than is found in English or any of the Latin-derived languages. It means "one who was called to Heaven." I did not meet this man, but if fought the good fight and performed good deeds, he is surely a martyr.

My friend, do not dwell on Professor Handler. I know some colleges at my new university who worked with her at the time and kept in touch with her afterward. She tried her experiment. It failed. It simply does not work. More to the point, I have been asked to take a trip to Libya soon. Perhaps my va...

Re: Supernatural Experiences in WW2

My own homeland, Afghanistan, was neutral during World War II. It was ironically one of the quieter places to be while the rest of the world seemed to be burned. Before and afterward, well Afghanistan has never stayed quiet for long. A lot of particularly interesting stuff was happening around the t...

Now that I think about it, she may have been criminally insane.

Re: Invasion of the Baby Snatchers

A few minutes after I left the car, I noticed that the crickets had stopped chirping. In fact, there was no natural night sounds being generated at all. They had all just stopped dead, leaving an eerie silence. Every sound I made was abrasively loud in my own ears, from my breathing to the sound of ...

Hello Mister Woodriff, Are you still around? I was reviewing some of the older threads on this board from before I join when I think I noticed something. Your sister is named Caprice, is she not? I think she may have posted here on this site back in 2008. I noticed primarily because I am a college i...

Re: Invasion of the Baby Snatchers

As Remy would say, we piled into Father John's car. Actually, there was not a pile of heroes. We each sat in a different seat. Driving with urgency, Father John makes trip of roughly 240 kilometers in 2 hours. Fortunately, we did not run into any speed traps on the way. Well into early evening, we c...

Re: Mummified Baby escapes grave

There are some ghouls who prefer their meals to be fine aged, but that might be a personal preference. If this was the only disturbed grave in the cemetary, I doubt that a ghoul is the cause. A more common monster is the likely suspect, greed. The article did not mention what methods of mummifacatio...

My area of specialty is the Middle East, not North America. It isn't surprising that I have never heard of it either. There is no mention of omagimaakos in Encyclopedia Mythica nor Tobin's Spirit Guide. Perhaps someone should add a page to the Lazlo Wiki. Swamp apes of Florida are also associated wi...

A good question. It turns out that a rival college was in that location. I am getting ahead of myself... I arrived with a rapid and loud knocking at the door to announce my presence. "Father John the Wise, Remy the Quick, your third musketeer has arrived! I am Ali the Handsome. How may I use my...

Fear not, I made it out alive. I am not without injury, but Team Portland emerged victoriously. It turns out that there are tunnels under that part of the city which branch out like tree roots. I like my Soviet Simonov SKS for emotional reasons. It's the only gun I've ever used, and I'd had it since I was boy. I trust it. I suppose Americans would call it a semi-automatic rifle, but to me it was always just my gun. In some countries, every boy was given a bicycle. Where I grew up, every bo...
