Hello

Post by SlayerOfAxes »

Hello, i am somewhat new to this site. i have been dealing in the paranormal for a couple of years now, and by no means an expert. What i want to know is, if the things you post here are real. I was reading a roleplaying book one night and stumbled accross this site. For a couple of months i had persay "fell out of touch with my senses" but after reading some of the posts, i starting remebering things, feeling things, and seeing things again. I want to know if this site is just a place for stories, or have i stumbled accross something ive been looking for for many years now. Thank you.

Hello Slayer.

Sorry it took a while to respond, but yeah, this is the real thing.

Or anyone.

And I hope we do not have to explain about dealing with the devil again.

It's a hobby of sorts involving interactive story telling and make beleive.

Unfortunately it opens up otherwise intellegent and creative individuals to suggestive and manipulative monsters.

How do you think the Voice was able to recruit for my cult in the past 20 years?

Role-playing cultists? No wonder they were all such pushovers.

And yet, at the same time, some role-players are still stronger for their hobby... You do realize that, comparatively speaking, teens who rp are far less likely to commit suicide than teens who don't?

This fact accidentally brought to you by the researchers for an anti-role-playing group, headed by a woman whose son committed suicide...because he was a sexist, racist Nazi who noone liked, and had just lost the bid for student council president.

But of course, it was all the fault of that damned Dungeons and Dragons.

Hey, I tried finding out a bunch of stuff about role-playing online, and some of that stuff's a little wierd. I mean, do those people REALLY get that into it? It's about as bad as those Star Trek geeks in high school. WTF?

Some folks do, but others take it on a much healthier approach... You still find the guys (and gals) who do it as a hobby, and nothing more. They're usually actually better at it than the ones who are obsessed with it.

For one, the obsessed ones tend to have poorer interactive skills, due to the limitations of interactivity they've placed on themselves, whereas the healthier gamer gets out more, interacts, and leads more of a "normal" lifestyle.

Healthy or obsessed, either which way, the rpg world opens doors for people to get together and hang out in ways that no other hobby really allows for... It ends up offering refuge, escape, and can be therapeutic to those suffering depression or bipolar disorders. (Though these types do seem more prone to becoming addicted and obsessed...)

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I don't damn the entire hobby on account of the ones who're obsessed. It still does a lot of good for a lot of high school teens who would otherwise be completely outcasted (or at least damned near completely), it still brings people together to engage in activities in which they have similar tastes, and so forth...

Yes, thank you, Ron... I do believe my grammar is suffering worse, of late. Maybe 'cuz I'm tired all the time.

Don't ask why I'm up at 2AM. It involves a 2-foot-tall not-dwarf.

Well as long as it isn't that crazy red dwarf, it's all good.

I talk to him on IM from time to time... He ended up having to quit his job, and get another one that doesn't require physical labor...

His injury won't heal, even by paranormal means. It's kinda wacky...

I belive 'Wacky' qualifies as an understatement.

And to fill people in, between looking for a new job, finding a replacement for myself at my apartment, moving OUT of my apartment and into my Domain full-time, physical therapy and the work I've had to do outside the normal fields just to get a few things I needed... Well, it's not been a good time for little old me.

The good news is that I'm no longer stealing internet from my old apartment, I've finaly got things up so that I can live and comunicate from the Closet any time I want.
