I require your assistance, my new friends. Information is what I require, not tactical assistance. I and my two comrades recently had a disturbing encounter with a creature who goes by the name "Nordak." I am not certain of the spelling as we have only heard this name spoken.
We were investigating a series of child kidnappings in our area. The trail lead us to the campus of a rival college not far from our own school. I will not be more specific as to the name of this campus for legal reasons. There were actually three disturbing discovers made when investigated the campus. We still don't know what to do about the first. The second resolved itself. The third is the most immediately troubling to us.
We discovered that the parties responsible for the kidnappings were a cult disguised as a praying club at the campus chapel. Blood was bleed. A corrupt priest was removed from his position of authority. The children could not be saved, but we were able I believe to release their captive spirits. The encounter culminated with a conversation with a robed figure who called himself Nordak. This is also the name that the cultists used to reference their master.
This Nordak figure battled us. I am sorry to say that it won the fight. Then he left us for no clear reason. Our own priest, perhaps buy application of his own faith or willpower, might have been responsible for driving away him away.
We don't know who or what Nordak might be. My own extensive research has turned up nothing, so it must be something from outside my admittedly narrow field of knowledge. The figure we encountered at the campus was the size of a man and spoke with an American accent. He was arrogant and teasing.
I had been experiencing nightmares up until our fight. Neither me nor my comrades have been able to dream since the encounter. Now, a specialist we know who works with psychic dreaming techniques has vanished. I am worried that Nordak might be gathering energy to strike back at us when we are at our most vulnerable.
Does anyone know this name?

Re: Nordak -- do you know this name?
It wasn't the "Path of the Shining Light" prayer circle was it? We had some of those goofs at one of the local University's when I taught there a few years ago. They were denied use of facilities after several complaints against them for illegal and cultist activities. They just disappeared from the campus after that.
There was a guy like you described that was the head of it. He was very interested in the knife I carry.

Perhaps Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, maybe Old Crow.
Question everything.
Re: Nordak -- do you know this name?
I prefer Oban, Te beagh, and Spencers.
It seems that religious zealots pop up a lot of university campuses. Something about impressionable youth's.

I appreciate the assistance my new friends.
Our priest friend has connections among knowledgeable people in a faith-based community. They in turn were able to dig up only this tiny shred of information about the offending fiend:
I do not know this Path of the Shining Light. The cultists we encountered were very hostile, so we did not learn the name of their organization. There was a Christian priest involved who seemed to be leader of their coven. There was also a professor who may have been the second in command or perhaps a co-leader. At least one of the students and the professor survived, along with their fiendish master. We did learn the names of the wicked priest and the wicked professor, but I am hestitant to list them here for fear of legal complications. I could provide their names through private messaging by request.
All that I can say for certain are these two clear facts. The cultists have a preference for red robes. They also made frequent use of this symbol:
Mister Smith, I appreciate this lead. Toward the end of the adventure, our youngest comrade did suspect that the cult we disrupted may have only been a small new branch of a larger movement. I do appreciate the information.
I am intimately familiar with Misters Bean and Daniels. They were not involved while I was there. There was some communion wine now that it is mentioned.

They also have some scant information on Nordak himself. There are obscure references in norse mythology to a being who rules half the domain of dreams, the other half being ruled by his rival Orrar; a goddess. Nordak is the source of ill sleep and nightmares, while Orrar brings pleasant dreams and/or wards off nightmares. Little else known about these two figures.

Don't know anything about this Nordak, but that symbol is a Circle of Power.
Konrad Andreas is at peace. I am something new.

Are you in the Atlanta, California or Ohio area? All three seemed to have some interesting religion based issues at their post secondary schooling in the paper this last month...
well doesn't matter I guess... Took a quick look at all three... couple things stood out on them...
Atlanta: "The Light of Day" youth group. phone records showing long distance calls from their on campus office to an otherwise unlisted number out in the middle of nowhere. Landline, seems to be in the middle of a swamp in florida. multiple 10 min long phone calls over the course of the last 3 months. Also, Two of the recorded members have interesting criminal records for both minor violence and minor confidence games.
California: if you can believe it... the "Church of the weasel" has registered itself as a religion, and the police have been getting interesting phone calls about animal sacrifices in the area... where do they get these people...
Ohio: An entire student prayer group just pretty much up and vanished recently. (gee I wonder which one you were involved with) The prayer group in question had gotten registered on campus, and thus had access to some (minor) campus funding... if you are interested in where that funding was spent I could send you the college records. You might find checking out their office yourself to be problematic until the cops tire themselves out looking for clues.

Re: Nordak -- do you know this name?
I think I know this group or at least one of their chapters. I'm in CA and while briefly attending university was contacted via school e-mail. They claimed to be a christian based support group for new students. I figured it could be a good way to start making amends with my dad so I checked it out.
Being raised christian, I can tell you that what they were into was definitely not.
I know this "Path of Shining Light" statement too. The group was led by a local minister and he thanked "his" god for answering their petitions and showing us (the new guys) the "Path of Light" that led us to them.
Weirder still, the other students who accepted the invitation like I had were like me in that they have...abilities. I have an aunt who called what I have "latent abilities" and it seems like this group was intentionally seeking us out.
Path of Shining Light...
I don't recognize the name Nordak, but I got creeped out and hauled ass back to my dorm. That was about 2 weeks ago and I haven't seen the other "initiates" since.
