I employ Sulloway’s maxim every time I encounter Bigfoot hunters and Nessie seekers. Their tales make for gripping narratives, but they do not make sound science. A century has been spent searching for these chimerical creatures. Until a body is produced, skepticism is the appropriate response.

This is a great problem in my research as well. Very few documented bodies have been recovered and they almost all have turned out to be indistinguishable from animals or to be men dressed in animal pelts or with unusual quantities of body hair. As of yet there has been no confirmed recovery of a fully hybrid form Therian.
