Busy weekend for me. I will visit Valaam. Boat sails tomorrow, sleep, arrive in the Saturday morning. Then I walk around all day, return to boat, sleep, return to Piter early Sunday morning. When I return, I go straight to Pulkovo to fly to America..
I hear mobile phone service will work in Valaam, but I take my sat phone just for the case the mobile not catches signal.

Try to relax and not get sea sick. Me, the waves of Ladoga rocking the boat help me sleep.

If you can, try and get some Ginger Pills beforehand. They won't make you wonky like commercial medications will but will help settle your stomach ifnecessary.

And if you are not going to be moving about, acupuncture works well, but the location for the needle is precise - and about an inch deeper than most.

I have taken a ship each time I have crossed the pacific ocean - twice during the monsoons.

Do you write about them in your little black notebook of poetry?

Ladoga is huge, but it is not the ocean.
Must have been quite a trip.

If you want me to suffer, why don't you just read me a poem, Bert?
But seriously, I think it is cool what you do.
