New's From Nepal

Post by fate »

Ladies and gentlemen of the society, I have some good news. The rumors I have been looking into in Nepal have turned out to bare most excellent fruit.

For sometime now we have been hearing about monks in Nepal that seam to be impervious to psychic/magic energy’s. It took some time, but I have located the monk’s and established good relations with them, but wait it gets better. These monk’s are in fact impervious to magic energy’s or that is to say there amulets they ware are.

When I found their monastery it was in shambles from repeated attacks by some sort of snow demon, but since the arrival of my team we have yet to see any sign of the beast. We have since begun rebuilding the monastery and in return the monks have agreed to give us four amulets.

At first I thought four was being quite stingy, that was until I found out how they where made. It seams that when one of the brothers dies he wills his life essence into the amulet, thusly giving it more energy. Some of the most elder monks whose lineage stretches back hundreds of years, amulets could stop an elder demon in its tracks.

I would like to give these amulets I’ve been gifted to four deserving members of the society. The catch however is those I give the amulets to must be willing to give there life essence to the amulet when the last moments of there lives are near, be it natural or premature.

First is for Ben, the amulet should keep you from being possessed ever other day :D

Next is Ron, I just feel as if you may need one soon.

KT, you had to know you were going to be on the list.

Shadow, I have one left…you game?

I am leaving some of my people there to help with construction and to help protect the noble monks.

I doubt we would be that lucky, more likely it would make him that much harder to deal with.

Its ok, no one has to accept these amulets. They’ll just become one of the many items amassed in the Greybeard vault.

the soul before yours is completely devoured I belive (also renders the amulet magicly inert)

Mr Fate, you must tell me more about this vault, as I have a few things I carry that I am uncomfortable with. Unfortunately they cannot be left unattendended. You will also have to tell me more about your time in Nepal. I am very interested to see how close the monks there and the monks I met during my pilgrimage to Tibet view the Buddha's teachings.

If it is like the medalions made in Tibet, yes. The steady influx of willing heroes makes the magic grow stronger, rather than weaken over time.

I would take one, but I have a one way trip for two to Jinkyo planned for my spirit.

The way they work is exactly how master Li described them. However the soul is pledged to the amulet upon receiving it, as only a willing, fully informed person can accept the amulet. If not then the results can be quite painful.

Master Li, the Greybeard vault is full of things man was never meant to play with. We would be more than happy to take whatever burdens you have and lay them to rest in our vault, but know once they go in they can never come out.

If no one else will I know the headmaster at the temple where I was raised will give himself to one. Explain the situation, and he will tell you when to be there for timing. (don't be late, you might miss him)

I have just witnessed the most amazing thing I have ever seen. As I mentioned before the monetary has been being harassed by a snow demon.

As the sun came over the horizon this morning, a huge chunk of ice came over the monastery wall. There was a horrible roar that sounded like a tornado was ripping through the mountain side. I came out side with my berretta in hand raped in a blanket…and there it was just out side the gate, the beast was at least 20ft tall and as wide as a house. An before it stood the frailest old man I had ever seen, aged and bent with time leaning heavily on his cane. The beast was yelling something at the man, I would guess in his own language that the old man seemed to understand. An all the old man did was wipe some snow of his bald head. This angered the best to such an extent that it flat out charged the old man. I stood there in horror, I thought the old fellow was done for…then to my surprise the old man deftly side stepped the best and grabbed hold of the massive pinky finger and twisted it to the side, placing the demon flat on his face. Then the old man began hitting the demon on the head with his cane while scolding the demon for acting rudely. I will never forget what I saw next, the old man released the beast, it stood up said something bowed apologetically and ran off into the mountains. The old man the hobbled over to his room and feel back to sleep.

The things you see in life are simply amazing.

So close to being an enlightened master........

To beat such a thing physicly is not that dificult, to bring about a change in mind and spirit - that "frail old man" is not long for this world, enlightenment becons to him. I do wish that more would stay after they reach that final state of being.

This is the first time in a long time Mr. Fate, that I have envied the doings of another man. You are fortunate to have met such a man.

Speaking of beautiful views.

I am reminded of Armenia in a small mountain village.

What a day that was...
