My vote is for 'didn't understand'.

So I'm thinking of getting a cat.
Any suggestions?

Don't.
So long as we're being honest with each other.
Besides, that violates your being alone thing. Unless of course this cat is porcelain and good for storing bills.

It's not like cats count as people.
Besides, I need a spotter.

Hi Nemesis,
Gabrielle's cat Mr. Fluffers and Suzie, the dog I had back at the compound were just as much people as anybody in the family. If your pet isn't, you've chosen the wrong pet.
Hannah
PS: Dad talks about why cats are better for this in the thread he titled My Night. Have a look.

I'll look into that. I've heard they're handy to have around. So are dogs but I don't think I have the time to properly train a dog. And dogs are kinda big and high maintenance.

But you have the time to train a cat.......
......to use binoculars and give you range estimations and share the observational duties?

I've heard that cats are particularily bright.

I have a pair of cats. I am not sure if they are smart, lazy, and stuck up, or stupid, lazy, and completely oblivious.
Then they go and do something to break both those theories.

By being cats.

Here's the deal with cats. All cats are like Erwin's - just replace "dead" with "trustworthy".
For instance,

Never heard of bomb sniffing cats or cats that detect smuggled drugs. No cat has ever detected a cancerous tumor or drag an unconsious man from a burning building.
Yeah, cats are so great.
Say, what to you think Duke ol' boy.
:WOOF!!:
Good boy Duke.

They do say that dogs are an excellent judge of character. If they don't like you, ever wonder why?
But all debate aside, has anyone considered what to do about this situation with Ron?

I've interacted enough with Ron to believe that he can find a way to get the help he needs, if he needs it.
As much as it may suck, the best thing we can do is sit tight and not inadvertently get in his way or accidentally cause further problems for him to deal with.

Speaking as a professional LEO. Ron just up and left a crime scene and now Hannah is gone missing. We all know he did not do it, but the police are gonna want to ask him some question. The spouse is usually considered the primary suspect, especially when the suddenly disappear. I just don't want the cops plus who/whever did this both hunting after Ron.
I know that CSI needs to examine the crime scene and evaluate the evidence, but Im pretty sure they might come across things they probably shouldn't.

Ron has LEO contacts and certainly he knows what's what.
He may have already dropped the dime.
We don't know.
Hannah doesn't even know. And she was there.
That's how Ron wants it.
If we trust him, that's the way it has to be.

I agree.
Still, that doesn't mean we can't move into a position to assist should the call to arms comes.
And by 'we', I mean all of 'you'.

I know that Skep, but we don't leave our friends in the wind, especially when they think they do't need us is usually the times when they need s the most.
If something were to happen to either of them, and I know dam well we could ha, no...should have, done something, how would they weigh in on your conscious.
You can do whatever you feel is best. I don't abandon friends.
