Back from Mexico

Post by Gotham Witch »

Hello folks. As you're aware, some of us have been quiet. As it turns out (at least for some of us), there was a good reason for that - we were taking care of some things in Mexico.

As noted in Daichan's post here we had a showdown with some not so friendly cultists. 'We' includes a lot of people here - in a way, we were just assisting the brave Mexican arcanists, psychics, and do-gooders that found themselves on opposing shadow cultists and their minions/pet dragons.

Many of them lost their lives; their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

The story for now is that the Cult is largely routed in Mexico. There are some unaccounted for, but most of them have been taken care of. Some of us will go into a bit more detail later about what happened. In the meanwhile, I'm back in New York, helping some friends clean up their neighborhoods. If anyone is in need of my services, I'm available once again.

I gotta say Mel, you made a damn fine field commander down there. The decisions were always tough and so were you.

Hopefully we've done enough damage to prevent whatever they were planning for the Winter Solstice.

It turns out I'm often good at things I really don't like doing, Dar.

At least this one helped save lives, I guess. :)

Mellisa, it's probably because you decide to do it as efficiently as possible in order to not have to do it a second longer than you have to.

I was impressed by what you had going on down there. I could have taken it over f I'd wanted, but you had it in under control and were making the right calls so instead I focused on doing what I was there to do.

Yes, what you did definitely saved lives. Your planning minimized the number of casualties in some very dangerous situations and our success means that even more were spared.

Go look at yourself in the mirror and congratulate yourself on a job well done and for the hundreds of lives spared by your intervention.
Ain't nuthin' that can't die.

Ron, coming from you that is a very large compliment. Thank you.

I suppose I just have this thing about responsibility - if I have the ability to help people, I should. It's not a special thing when I do - though the people who are affected seem to disagree, heh.

Dad was right. I should have been a cop. :P
