Well Lil' Wolf I think Poppa should definitely take you shopping. While he's at it I think he should take you for lunch and ice cream too.

Make sure he has to hold your purse while you try on a bunch of different outfits and remember, the rule is try on five outfits for everyone you buy if you're paying, buy five outfits for every one you'll actually wear if he's paying.

speaking of the romance that is going around. I finaly got my word to not only talk to girls. (rather then just oggle them form across the room) at the last dinner and dance for the young people in the order. He even danced with a young healer. then she kissed him on the check. and well he did not quit panic, and use magic the throw the poor girl Across the room.. he did not even psychically attack her other then braking free of her arms. He did turn white as a ghost, and run form the room... as if he was afrade she was going to drag him off to a cave some where or have her way with him. right there on the floor infornt of every one. Progress but still need to work on his trust issues. so far the only woman or girl he really seems to trust is hes younger sister. He is more trusting of mom.... I might actualy be able to leave him for short periends of time when I need to travel for field work.... though I have yet to try it with more then a few hours

Maybe if your ward doesn't want to be kissed by girls, even on the cheek, he shouldn't have to?

Also, how is that romantic? It sounds scary and unpleasant for him.

Its not that he does not like girls. its that he had a vary bad experience after his father died his mother was using him as a power source to try and turn back the wheel and save her husband. The way she raised the power was throw forms or abuse. Hope You All are getting a clear idea. and since that happened he is afread of being used by a girl or woman. Part of him wants to reach out to have relation ships. but yes it was unnerving for him.

I want hem to be happy. but I am not sure how that is going to happen if every time some one does any thing remotely sexual to him. he Freaks. He has to be free of that which binds other men and that includes fear. if he can not free him self of the fear that holds him he will not be able to grow into his true power. it will also and more impotently keep hem form a full and happy life

I suggest time. Sometimes a guy just needs to have time to figure out what he wants and how to approach it . . . or what to do when it approaches him.

I think your ward shouldn't be trying so hard on getting into romantic situations if they freak him out. Instead he should just spend time around girls, get to know some of them and make friends with them.

Once he realizes that girls don't bite, he might relax a little bit and something romantic can actually happen.

But Hannah, sometimes girls do bite. I was taught all sorts of situations where I should bite. And scratch and claw but mostly to punch, kick, stab and shoot.

Maybe normal girls should be taught at least some of the things I was.

you two do have a point. The idea of having Social functions for young people like that dance. Is to teach or young people how to handle them, and also give then a chance to get to know other young people. Though we are not trying to pair them off yet. We understand that Romantic relationships and learning how to handle them are part of growing up. We go to a lot of effort to try and make them feel safe. And just seeing him Relax enough to dance and even smile when she laughed at some witty thing he said gave me hope. On that note him my moms foster and his sister went to see a movie. and well he was a little uncomfortable being so close to strangers things went well and he had a good time, they all did.

I wonder What he would have been like had he not been exposed to his mothers abuse. It is a vary tragic thing and all we can do now is damage control. I wonder if it would be a good Idea for him to avoid the dances for the time being maybe just attend the banquets and the less formal partys. Come to think about it his birthday is coming up, maybe I should ask him about the guest lists...

I think that getting to know other young people is highly over rated. But apparently necessary.

Still, I suppose it's a good thing that your ward is starting to socialize normally, if that makes him happy.

Maybe what you should do is just ask him if he wants to do stuff. If he puts up a big fuss then maybe he's not ready. If he puts up a little fuss but agrees, maybe he's ready to try it. Of course if he puts up no fuss at all, he's clearly ready.

How old is he going to be at his birthday?

Cynthia He is going t be 15, I should have started fostering and training him at 13 but then there where other things going on. and we thought it wise to live him with his mother for a bet of time, after his father was killed. if we had done things as we usealy do them he would not have been abused by his mother... and would porbly be less ackwared with women and girls.

you act ling there's something wrong with people your own age group? I know there's things about you that I dont know but I suspect that you and my ward have much in common, I rather wish there was not, I wish that was something that we had left behind us.

Sounds like he's around my age. Not that I know how old I am. I've never had a birthday but Papa says I can have one and I picked October 31st.

It's not that there's anything wrong with anyone in my own age group. but what could I possibly have in common with them? When other little girls were playing with Barbies, I was field stripping AR-15's and Glocks. When other kids were running around the school yard playing tag, I was sparring with my sisters. When other little kids were learning about World War Two, I was learning about the schism between the Dark Powers.

They play to have fun. I play to learn to kill and survive.

They cry and whine when their parents won't let them go to a concert or stay out past curfew.

You don't want to know the last thing that made me cry.

So no, I don't think there's anything wrong with them.

If your ward is anything at all like me, then I feel very, very sorry for him.

It sounds like you ave a lot more in common then you know. I belong to an order of heardatry druids. The reasion we foster or children with some one else is 2 fold. One it strengthens the ties between families. 2 it makes sure that there gifts are trained. The reasion we do so at about 13 or so is recourse that is when here gifts start to manifest in a stable and trainable way. You have learned to field strip and use firearms. our children have to learn how to shut out the "voice" of the thoughts of others. My mother is a healer she can feel the pain of others as if it was her own. she had to learn to shut thought out. My word when I tried to send him to school blow up his desk because the teacher put her hand on his shoulder to try and help hem feel more comfortable.

and then there is the fact that the things that go bump in the night seem to think that young mages and psi. smell tasty. we do things like banquets partys. and dances. to give them some since that they have normal lives. also so that they know how to act in the world around them. But also we are celts and we try and hold to our cautler as well. I have seen what happens to children whom maifest unsural powers in the world if there parents do not understand it is not often pretty. and often tragic. we try and potect thim that is why when we find a child with power in state care we try and adopt them.

Fortunately Cynthia has already been rescued and adopted. By Ron and I.

I've heard through the grapevine that there may be some sort of academy or private school opening up in New York State to help those who are 'gifted'. No word yet about when or exactly where or even what it'll be called.

Maybe they'll name it the Lazlo Institute for Higher Learning. Yeah, that would be cool.
