How Prepared Are We - Ghosts & Hauntings

This is another subject matter that I believe has been glanced over in light of more "physical" supernatual encounters.

I know that on more than one occasion we have come across entities and spirits, but never really touched down on how to best deal with this subject matter.

Again, looking for advice/opions regarding ghosts & hauntings, information, tatics, investigation methods, personal experience, and how to best deal with hostile spirits, residual huantings, and intelligent hauntings.

As in the posts Sasha has made here demonstrate, the spirits themselves don't always know what it is that they want or need. Sometimes, they just miss life. There's not always something that can be done to help them move on - for some spirits, they're just going to walk across that bridge for eternity, others will stop when there has been justice or something finally done to their satisfaction.

Um, no? Wait. Yes. Do you have a point?

That mental aberrations are not evidence of the paranormal.
But we don't really have to rehash such simple concepts.

Do ghosts and otherworldly entities exist? In a word - YES.

I hear there are several kinds of know entities out there and probably many more that have not been studied.

We need more input on this subject.

I'll have to have Sasha collect the ghost stories he's posted here, then. There's been several over the years.

Any that stand out?

I don't really remember anymore. He had concrete_angel do a seance to contact the spirit and ask if there was anything he needed. Usually they're waiting for a message to be delivered, justice to be had, or the completion of some task they started in life but couldn't finish in death before moving on.

I never knew she was a medium.

A typical 'haunting' ain't no ghost, it's a creepy little entity known as a Poltergeist OR more likely a few building code violations and some hysteria. Either of those cases the best thing to do, if they family will agree, is send everyone in the house to a motel for about a week. Fix up the leaks or bad wiring in the house if it's a construction problem or just keep away from it if it's a Poltergeist.

The 'ghost' will leave after a few days if there's nothing to eat, which there won't be with no frightened people in the house. Give the family a walk through and collect your fee. (A guy's gotta eat ya know)

As for real Ghosts? I've only encountered one and it was pretty benign, haunting a nice family in Newark. A Ouija board and a trip to the record's office gave me the ghosts name and that he'd died about thirty years back, but was still worrying about his wife. She'd left the country after he died so I got a graphic artist pal of mine to put together some photos 'proving' she'd had a nice happy life. He disappeared so apparently it worked.
