Ok then folks, its settled. This Memorial Day weekend (May 2010) I and the Cypress Cove Lazlo Society Annex will hold the Society's first Annual Reuion and BBQ, (BYOB).

Of course I still have to plan everything out, make preparations, buy food, get things ready.

Oh....and I do believe attendance should be mandatory, or at least RSVP.

Really, running solo has a lot of advantages.

It used to be a lot easier out there when the only one at home for me was Mr. Fluffers. Now I have to stop and wonder sometimes. Now I have to make sure those I care about are safe first before I get to work.

Doin' what we do as often as we do it, and without any motivation other to get paid for it? You have one pittiful and hollow existance man. I used to think like that back when I worked for..........oh nevermind that, but still. Without conscious or care you just start goin' through the motions. Its no longer a callin', but instead just another job with a paycheck.

It wasn't until my family came into it that it became personal. Molly lost her mother about 3 years ago to a sociopath that was plaging the boards. I became her family and thats when I realized that it was no long just a job anymore. That little girl gave me a reason to stand up and fight. Then Kelly and I got married, and we had a kid of our own not too long ago. That strengthened my resolve even more and is what compelled me to return to these boards after all this time.

What we do is not some job, it is in fact a calling. For some reason or another the few of us here on these boards were chosen; be it chance, fate, or just dumb luck.

Just to play devils advocate here for a moment but why would I expose another human being to the risk I choose to face? How is that fair to them? How can it be anything but selfish?
