Ghost of Bill Hanes

Post by DarKnyht »

Bill Hanes was just a normal guy, until he decided that he couldn't take it anymore. He proceeded to take a gun and tie up his family. Once they were tied up he went into the kitchen and got the biggest knife there. He set up the video camera to film what he would do next. That was stabbing each member of his family 30 times. Once he finished his gruesome task, he turned to the camera and stated that he was not done yet, smiled wickedly, and used the gun on himself.

That was 5 years ago yesterday, and yesterday was apparently when he decided to finish the task. Some former close friends claim to have seen Bill late last night. In fact, they claim to have been chased by him from the bar they left to the police car they ran to. I've got a bad feeling about this one.

In other news around town, we have a new antiques store. I have yet to go down there because I am too broke, but my friends claim that there is a lot of interesting things there. The owner also apparently claims that he can find the item that will suit each person's needs perfectly.

The replacement pastor for the largest church also has arrived in town. He has already started counseling some of the members affected by the events earlier this month. I think it is good that there are so many willing to help out with the psychological issues that have to be there over this.

The Sheriff's office made an official response to the "Bill Hanes Ghost" as they called it. They claim that the attack was nothing more than a foolish Halloween prank by someone. When the individual or individuals responsible are found, they will be arrested for endangering public safety and attempted assault.

Personally, I am not sure what to think of it.

There has been another attack. This time an officer was assaulted in a dark alley while looking into a stranger stalking about. The officer was one of the first responders to the Hanes' House when the murder/suicide originally took place. He suffered no serious injuries and swears to have shot the man twice.
However, no one could find any evidence of blood and early ballistics shows that the bullet did not slow down before hitting the side of a nearby building.

There was another attack. This time two women and they claim that the attacker was behind them and then right in front of them again when they turned and ran. Whoever it was, they were gone almost as quickly as the women were chased until a patrol car turned onto the road they were on. The officer couldn't find anyone and said he didn't see anything despite the women claiming the attacker was right behind them.

I bet by morning they will explain the teleporting attacker as being just two people conspiring to pull this "prank" off. I am going to start investigating tomorrow night, as I doubt anyone will be out tonight.

There have been yet more sightings of this mysterious visitor the past few nights, but so far no one has been seriously injured. Whatever this thing is, it is intelligent and is picking it's targets carefully. My own searches have turned up nothing.

On a side note: I think this might be a sign I need to spend a few hours with a shrink. Because seriously, who in their right mind goes out looking for what appears to be a psychotic killer returned from the grave? :|

Heh. I would call it normal for around here. But then most of us here tend go looking into places, that maybe we shouldn't.

Yeah, I consider it a good thing that I had a moment of sanity and questioned that trend.

While I wasn't present, Bodie had a run in with the thing that is Bill Hanes. He arrived on the scene in time to save a young girl being attacked by him. She has suffered a couple of cuts that requires stitches, and is quite scared by the experience but alive. The new head shrink has offered to see her and help her deal with the issue.

Bodie is a little shaken. He claims that he put a full clip into the man without him really slowing down. The bullets didn't even knock the guy over. So unless he is superman in disguise I think we have something unnatural stalking our streets. Bodie also thinks that had his backup not gotten there, we would have found both of them dead.

Anyone have any ideas as to what we are dealing with?

Bodie pulled the file on Hanes and he found something interesting, the knife that was put into evidence is missing. There is now an investigation going on in the sheriff's office to find out who may have taken it. They now think that whoever has the knife is behind the attacks.

Still doesn't explain how that person could take multiple gun shots standing though...

We managed to track down the creature. We quickly found that physical attacks seemed to have no effect on it, much to the sorrow of my back. Fortunately, a new ally appeared and saved our lives and helped us to defeat us.

The bad news is that for the unforeseen future, I am out of commission. I was thrown with more force than I thought possible into a dumpster causing severe damage to my back. While the doctors believe that this will heal, the nerve damage will probably cause me to walk with a limp (and a cane) the rest of my life.

After my trip into the dumpster, I apparently sent one of my uncontrolled psychic attack back into the monster. This only seemed to piss it off and to make me it's primary target. It proceeded to slash and beat me into quite the mess (fractured ribs and arm, multiple stitches all over) before she appeared and sent it back to the hell it came from. Brodie doesn't look much better, although his wounds are mostly superficial. I am afraid I am still learning the details of everything since I don't remember too much after hitting the dumpster.

So for the time being, I will be lurking in the shadows here and trying my best to recover. Anyways, it seems my luck in all of this finally ran out and I bit off more than I can chew.
