Montauk Cryptid

Apparently some sort of creature has washed ashore near Montauk, a site long associated with theories about the government and aliens and crossplanar phenomena.

Already the "experts" are trying to discredit the image as a fake.

That is one ugly looking thing. Looks like a mutated Mexican hairless rat.

The only thing strange in the photo I noticed was that it seemed to be flipping off the camera.

Its interesting that the Plum Island Animal Disease Center is located nearby. makes one wonder what they are really doing there.

Yeah, after reading about that area it all sounds odd.

Is anyone going to independently test the creature?

“. . . but unless the government is trying to design horrible Montauk Monsters that will eat I.E.D.s and fart fire at bad Iraqis, we’re not sure why they would create such an unthinkable beast,” a blogger for the Web site wrote. “Our guess is it’s viral marketing for something.”

The best part of the second one.

He knows what it isn't.

A raccoon. ("The legs appear to be too long in proportion to the body.")

A sea turtle. ("Sea turtles do not have teeth.")

A rodent. ("Rodents have two huge, curved incisor teeth in front of their mouths.")

He said the general body shape looks like a dog or other canine ("Coyote?"). But that the "prominent eye ridge and the feet" don't match.

He said the feet and face look "somewhat ovine" -- that would be like a sheep -- but sheep don't have sharp teeth.

Wise's best, educated guess: "A talented someone who got very creative with latex."

Of course its a latex model... would else would it be? I see that a few years experience for you all has left you none the wiser.

Nothing's changed here while I was away it seems.

I cannot believe my eyes. Debunker has returned.
Man have I missed your willingness to take up the other side of the debate.

I just hope they will publish the evidence that back up whatever official view they pick. Personally, I am still holding out a little bit of hope that they are government designed I.E.D. eating and fire farting monsters just for my own amusement.

If it is latex, that should have been fairly easy to identify by any skilled professional. However, some idiot supposedly ran off with the thing so we may never really know.
