The Specters of Oom

Post by DarKnyht »

Paranormal Pastor has posted another interesting article. Apparently Nyack College was once used by a very twisted individual and there are possibly supernatural repercussions of that happening even today.

The article mentions that the place has been exorcised and blessed on multiple occasions with no success. Does anyone have a better solution to the problem?

Has anyone tried peaceably talking to the spirits?

Has anyone ever tried talking to the spirits? All of the accounts seem to be “confrontational,” which I take to be aggressive. Dare I ask what is meant by “sex magic?”

It's a free society so you can ask, but I would be afraid what some of the answers are going to be. I also think everyone should be prepared for this topic to go into the gutter fairly quickly.

Perhaps it’s possible it is being resummoned?

I wish it would be otherwise, but I agree. So I’ll try to stave it off. All of the sightings seemed to have dealt with anything but that which “Oom” was charged for in the 1910 article. A “Dark Specter,” voices, icy hands, books and objects flying around . . . it sounds like it could be haunted. As for the exorcisms, that is troubling . . . perhaps it’s possible a student or faculty member is re-summoning these apparitions?

Sex for ritualistic purposes, frequently used by cult leaders, both for the gratification of their own lust, and to increase the emotional dependance that the cultists feel toward their leader. If you look into cults heavily, you will find that the larger cults almost always exhibit some form of sexual behavior that is considered abnormal in this country. I won't go into specifics, but here's a few examples of cult leaders who became famous for such.

Jim Jones (1931-1978), founder of the Peoples Temple, had sex with several women, and fathered children with some.

David Koresh (1959-1993), the Seven Seals leader of Branch Davidians only in Waco, Texas, greatly restricted the sexual activity of his followers, while marrying wives as young as twelve because puberty was an accepted age for marriage in Old Testament times. A former member described Koresh as "fixated with sex and with a taste for younger girls." He began to teach that all the women in the world belonged to him, only he had the right to procreate, and he fathered children with his plural wives. .

Charles Manson (1934- ), leader of the informal Manson Family, drugged many of his followers with LSD and while women were under the influence, he induced them to service him sexually.

Raël (1946- ), formerly named Claude Vorilhon, founded Raelism and had sex with hundreds of women, "...a new one every day, all pretty young devotees who thought he was some kind of god." His ex-wife of 15 years continued, "...over the years I began to think the whole Raelian movement was a trick to have more sex..." Raelism openly teaches a belief in sexual freedom, which is used to recruit new members, who are invited
to participate in Sensual Meditation sessions.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (Osho) (1931-1990), founder of Rajneeshpuram, declared himself a "sex guru" and enticed female followers to explore sex with.

Damn, that's a hard topic, but with the way sex has been used in cult building before, I thought it may be a sidetrack that needed to have some kind of responsible exposure.

Quite the website you found there DarKnyht, goin straight to bookmark's, thanks.

Sounds like the place has turned into a classic haunter feeding site (sorry, I call ghosts and ghasts haunters, just a habit). I'll bet the exorcism's and blessings worked just fine but the place must shine like a beacon to the little pests, what with all the attention the place has received and the number of folks (particularly younger folks) living there. And if the rumors about 'Oom' are even remotely true... heck, even the exorcisms and blessings just sound the dinner bell.

Course I've never been there, so the situation could be a whole lot better or worse than it sounds. Anybody wanna go for a visit?

Will you share your findings?

Sorry, Doctor, but a six hour drive doesn’t sound like fun to me, especially since it doesn’t seem like the haunting creatures are actually hurting anybody. Besides, I have work . . . but if someone is in the neighborhood . . . by all means. Just please, share your findings with us.

That’s . . . alarming, Logan. I always knew it was practiced in gangs and things, but I never thought it could actually serve as some sort of ritual. However, it may just be a farce to prove dominance . . .

I have actually interfered with such a ritual that were being used by a cult leader to gather up energy to use for a major ritual - he said something about "if you kill them, you only get to sacrifice them once, this way you can steal their energy repeatedly." that was right before Janice ventilated his skull, still wish I had of had time to question that one more thoroughly. Talk to your resident druid, and your local yogi - I'm sure they can explain how it works better than I can, all I know about magic is hearsay and uneducated observation.

What if rather than haunting it himself, Oom, had opended a Gate, which opens again periodically. That way, no matter how many exorcisims are performed, new things could come through later.

I would think there would be more variance . . .

While a gate would solve the exorcism issue, I would think there would be more variances between hauntings. Unless of course, this “Dark Specter” was guarding his territory.

Maybe the rituals were to bind a part of himself to the spot somehow?

Or possibly the rituals left an impression of some kind? There are so many possibilities here.

Really makes me want to go investigate. It is a shame that I cannot make a trip up there.

I wonder if anyone ever did do a full investigation of the place. I would be interested to find out exactly what his strange rituals were for (other than an excuse to have sex). Also would like to hear more of the hauntings, if they were spirits looking for something to be done or if they were just attracted to the place.

So many questions...
