In other odd news, the appearance of 4-inch-long grasshoppers around Kohima, Nagaland, has residents collecting them to cook and eat, but some say it's a sign of the apocalypse or of a coming famine, as described in Grasshoppers' Invasion Delights Residents in Kohima.
Likewise, this in South Asia looks like it might be fun to look into. I cannot imagine eating grasshoppers though.
