Back at the compund, we had a couple of guys who could make devces that as near as I could tell don't entirely rely on the regular uderstanding of physics. I don't know how well all of them worked, but I do know that some of the modifications I made to my Piece, my goggles and my armour based on their work have increased the effectiveness.

I’ve actually heard rumors that the “ghost hunting” machines have always been based off of Lazlo’s theories; can someone verify if this is true?

Depends on how you define based off of. My most effective models have been when I worked off of Dr. Lazlo's premise of magic and psychic phenomena being powered by an as yet unidentified (and hence, "magical") form of energy. Through studies of brainwave/EMF interactions I have been able to record consistant fluctuations in certain frequencies during events that have no adequate explaination.
