First hunt in a long time
I returned to OH this week to clean up a mess that has been there for far too long. I packed up the best gear I had and made my way over there. When we arrived, it was just after midnight and the town had mostly gone silent. I smiled to ourselves because the cloudy night would help the work to be done.
The pistol was cold in my left hand. We once again found myself thankful that during my punishment I learned to use both. There was near no one out so the hunt would go easier. The pistol felt slightly heavier with the silencer on it, but again that could not be avoided.
I checked my gear and I confirmed what we sensed. There was evil nearby and it was going to be exterminated. The first creature was standing behind the counter of the shop, and it begged for me to let it continue it's miserable existence. But the pistol sang and the creature fell silent behind the counter. It was almost boring as we didn't get to have a fight.
The second creature ran, and it somehow managed to get a weapon to fight back with. We chased it through the old town, with it screaming curses at us. It almost got away, but I caught it with a blast when it thought it had the drop on us. While dazed, we bound it and pulled it to the alter in the old chapel.
It screamed as it was sacrificed for the greater good, but it's master accepted it just the same. The first of those responsible had paid the price, and now the hunt begins anew. In the end they will all pay and this mess will be cleaned up.

Are you feeling okay, dawg? You sound a little psychotic this morning; we're worried about you.

Indeed.
Sometimes the only thing to be done is to feel one’s way through the darkness.

Whoa, Ok there Original Darknyht. First off what made these people evil?

They were the ones that hid them for so long, so we sent them back to their masters. Soon those that have helped them over the years will also be brought to justice.

Seriously, you need to come in and have a long chat with a few people. Otherwise we may have to assume that you have become a danger.

Chatting will resolve none of this, only removing the mistakes.
Another one was corrected last night. They were tainted by their work and needed to be cleansed. We found them and they confessed their crimes to me. Once they were dealt with I tracked down the demons they were with and removed their stain from this planet. Foolish things thought we were one of them, guess I have this miserable curse to thank for that.
The pistol Terra gave us still works so well after all these years. We wanted to go back and fix that also, but it wouldn't let us. You should have heard the glorious screams that cleansed the stream of their existence. At least I will repair this as soon as we locate all that were responsible for what happened.
Interloper, do not worry. Soon we will visit you too. Your stain is the deepest and brightest and requires the others' blood to cleanse completely. Everyone else should just stay away from him or you will risk becoming poisoned also. We will remove all the flaws, even if this means people once considered friends and allies. I can fix this.

So what are we going to do to bring down this madman?

Master Long, Mr. Pendragon, do be carefull.
Understanding, is not a thing that comes swiftly, but rather in stages, a journey that once begun, must be seen to it's end.

I do not want to fight you Pendragon. You helped us out when I was in trouble so long ago. But I will not let you stop us from fixing this. I do this for your own good even if you cannot understand. Everything must be reset. The interloper must be removed for the good of all.
However if you insist on interfering, you will find that we are not the unskilled man that so long ago couldn't handle vampires by himself. We have faced things you cannot fathom and survived.

Re: First hunt in a long time
I think this has to do with the knife. The first murders were in the town where I found the knife, the second was a person I spoke to about the knife. The files I had on the knife were burned and the backups were destroyed. Heck he took the knife off of me before forcing me down that hellhole.
I think I can come up with a list of most of the places and people I spoke to, but that was a much longer length of time for me than you guys. I know that there was a professor at the UT that I spoke with but I think he was going into the field over in the middle east. However, I do not remember the gentleman's name. There was also a young lady that had written a book on ancient symbols, Jennifer Jones that is probably now a target.
I visited a few sites in New England that were related the colonial story, and I spent time researching the sites in South America. Heck if he is really on a vengence spree, then every person that I talked to on the message boards will be at risk. I am afraid that is the best list I have right now.

I can only assume that at some point everyone involved back then will be seeing this freak at some point if he isn't stopped.
Given the one experience I had with him be careful. If he has a Pistol like mine it would be a perfect assassin's weapon, silent and more or less untraceable. I am not sure why he hasn't used it in the past killings. It is almost like he is enjoying putting me in this situation.
But even without that, he seemed to be quite knowledgable of magic. He managed to control or at least be ignored by those squidies in South America. I guess he could have been behind the animals attacking us there.

She was, but we got to her first. When the gunsmoke cleared, she was whisked away by the F.B.I.
I gotta warn you -- OG Dark is a bad dude. Cat can walk through walls, and his piece is something else. Our armor took several hits, but when we examined the vests later they were unmarred. Pendragon said he thought it might be based on the same technology as his rifle.

Thanks for getting her away safely. I feel useless where I am, but reassembling the file fragments is probably the most useful thing I can do right now.
If he truly has a pistol like mine like he claims, and it sounds like it, then everyone better be careful. When charged there is very little sound and no evidence of being fired other than the holes. It has been a valuable gift, but I always have remembered the discussion about assassinations when I first posted about it.

We're gonna need it.
DarKnyht gave us a partial list of likely targets, and we managed to contact most of them to warn them. Meanwhile, Pendragon and I tried to track down Original DarKnyht. We had a knock-down drag-out but weren't able to capture him and he went to ground. Probably went overseas to kill some people that were on his list but not ours.
Next place we knew he was is South America. Mark was vacationing with a stewardess we'd met and I asked him to keep watch down there. He ran across OG DK at one of the sites and almost got killed.
OG DK came back to the States and started killing again. We chased him down the Eastern Seaboard into West Virginia, but he fled before we could pin him to the plate with a fork. I guess one Chicago-style deep-dish was enough for him.
Now I can't reach DarKnyht to get an expanded list; and OG DK isn't the only loon I got to stop, but I'm worried that Pendragon can't take him solo.

Willie, you are so close yet missing the mark. We were frustrated by your attempts at saving those others, but I managed to get the one that counts. Even have his gun to prove it.
Poor little interloper trapped in a cave, demon has come to take him away.
No weapons to keep him alive, so in his grave we think he'll stay.
We never were much of a poet. But it is poetic that interloper created his own demise. Now on to getting rid of this god-forsaken reality that should have never been.
All will pay in the end.

Yes, we would like that since you helped start this. Would be nice to personally tie up another loose end before it all ceases to exist.
We will even be nice and use the interloper's gun to send you to him. Yes, I like the symmetry in that idea. What could be more beautiful than the weapon that once protected this existence will help destroy it. Leave the true version untainted by this abomination, and use the impure to cleanse it.
Btw, the professor in New York is no longer with us. We left pieces of him all along the state route by his house. He wouldn't stand still while we were trying to cut him up. Crawled the last few yards with his bloody stumps. Should have never helped us, and in turn him, back then.
