I heard an interesting question/statement the other day.

Guy 1 - What can you do Mr. Holister?

Ben - I have guns. What do you have?

Guy 1 - No, what you have is bullets. You are countng on whatever it you are shooting to be dead by the time you run out.

Ben - ???

Guy 1 - The question then being how fast can you reload before it tears you to pieces.

back where I used to live they spent a lot of time talking about the power of their Righteous Fury.

Then my dad came and stood alone against all the menfolk of the cult while the others rescued me while doing his best not to hurt or kill any of them.

I decided that Righteous Fury is the strongest force on earth, and that the people in the compound never really knew what it was.

You do much more than worry, Ms. Darken. When you were afraid of your own self, you helped. You were given personal slight and insult, yet still you helped. You were hated and feared by some, in response, you helped them. You were treatened with destruction, but you gave aid even to them. I propose, Ms. Darken, that if more people "just worried" the way that you "just worry" the world would be a happier, and safer place.

Oh do any of you know how to clean one of these things? The gentleman in the black suit that was at the temple loaned it to me, and it sometimes does things that perplex me. I used to worry less about guns than I do today, that's for sure...

I miss my magic...but with things the way they are, I can keep pretty much anything that isn't human completely out of my house, even when I'm not home. I'll take my family's safety from the paranormal--which is far more likely to attack us in my home--than limited protection from weapons including firearms, which I need to be present to cast, and I can't cast faster than a bullet flies...

Damned trade-offs...

The more I think about this, the more I think maybe Willie should retire...especially since a toddler can push you around, eh, Willie? XD

For those who don't know (which would be everyone):

The week before last (which was the first week I was on vacation), I was getting increasingly troubled by my short, foul temper and the fact that I couldn't meditate, so Willie was coming over for a couple hours in the evening, and giving me workouts that were intended to wear me out, in the hopes that at the end of these workouts, I would be able to start meditating again...

Well, he ended up coming along for a short grocery run one of the evenings he was over. Lex wanted me to help carry things for her, and since Willie was over, he automatically got dragged along as well. While we were waiting in line, Lex, who was pushing the cart, leans over to talk to Julian (who still doesn't really say much of anything besides "dada"), 'cuz the kiddo was getting fussy... Well, Julian, in irritation, reaches out and shoved Lex away as hard as he could (which, being a toddler, isn't very hard at all), and Lex made a big show of getting thrown back, shouting and flailing her arms as she ran backwards...

Well, this made Julian laugh, so Lex leaned in, and he again shoved her. Then it was my turn, and he thought seeing his old man "flying" backwards was pretty funny, too. So Willie decides to try, since Julian's been shy around him this entire time, despite his best efforts. Well, Willie warns us to "clear out", and when Julian hesitantly shoves him, Willie shouts and does a backflip right there on the spot. This sent the kiddo absolutely in hysterics, and he gave Willie a few more good shoves before it was our turn to get checked out.

Julian didn't have any problems with Willie the other few times he came over after that. ^_^
