Having grown up in a cult and seeing just how messed up they can be, I need to disagree with you on that one.

The majority in the cult are deluded, rather than evil.

It's the ones who create and prey upon those delusions who deserve punishment . . . the rest are just other victims.

Many cultist Mr. Caliburn are of a like mind. Thisis what makes them so easily manipulated. Those who willingly accept the cult are as guilty of their individual actions as the one who leads it.

Those however who are forced into its service are often not as agreeable and can be forced into their actions. They are the only ones whose actions may be forgivable if they had no other option.

Well in the case of myself, my daughter, her mother, and jsut about every living relative I have, we were born and raised in the cult. We had no real idea of the outside world, only that which we were taught.

I think that the majority of people who grew up the way I did, once given reality to look at in a way that allowed us to realize our programming, would make reasonably sane and moral choices.

As it was, when I left the compound, before I finally had the viel lifted from my eyes I became a became a vagrant, a drunk, and a thug.

Excuse Ghost's melodrama, Rebecca...though he is right, to an extent. You will start noticing things you've never noticed before, you'll start seeing shadows moving where noone else does. You have already witnessed terror... It's time to move beyond terror, to hope.

No, you can't get your old life back exactly the way it was...but you can pull together some semblance of a life. You can't move back, but you can move on.

Can you afford a trip to Illinois in the near future? There are a number of us around the Chicago area who can most likely help you start getting rid of the eyes watching over your shoulder.

Willie Long and Ron Caliburn are two of the greatest teachers here in the Society... Master Long teaches martial arts at a dojo in Chicago, and Mr. Caliburn teaches proper use and care of side-arms in DC. If you can afford to travel, they're your best bets. Willie has been known to travel from time to time, but just like me, Ron has family and obligations that tie him down to one spot. If you can't travel, we'll figure something out for you.

I know you're scared, Rebecca...but there is hope. That's why we have the lighthouse signal in our logo.
