War has been declared on me.

Post by Michael T »

As some of the members may rember I was looking into a group of mages who had a tattoo much like the one I have had since I was very young. Last night a group of their young bloods attacked me as my daughter and I were getting out of our car to go into a nice resturant. Jess is fine before anyone worries about her, she takes after her mother. The moment an offensive spell was chanted she used the charm my mentor gave her to teleport to our safe house. I have one of the young fools as a "guest" till I find out what is going on, interestingly enough the older members have sent a magic pigeon to me to disclaim any involement in the fued the youth have started.
Seems the older members are more the scholarly types and do not want to go to war over the young and foolish. I responded with what I have learned of the evil acts the young are doing and was told that it was not thier buisness to interfere in the gain of knowledge and power by any of their members. I am getting ready now for what is going to be interesting to say the least, I know there are about 20 of the young ones left after last night. I am going to get all I can from my "guest" about her companions and thier agenda. If you wish to vist or drop in be warned I think these fools care about innocents getting caught in the crossfire.

. . . could you elaborate a little more, Michael?

And as always . . . be careful. This “guest” that you speak of . . . I’m nervous about her. Something in this doesn’t . . . taste right? That doesn’t make any sense, but that’s what I feel about this.

I appreciate the warning Eilonwy, I am a bit hesite to revel too much unless it is by PM. I don't yet know if these young bloods have found this site or not. I am also taking all caution with my "guest" and keeping her in an area magic will not work. Well inless it is mine.
I am willing to discuse the fine details by PM if you want, maybe you can get more insight than me into this.

Mr. T if you find the need to move your daughter we have room here and I have two of the finest tutors in the states so her schooling wouldn't fall behind. That is if she is in school.

Besides I could always use the company to many gumpy adults that don't know how to take a joke here.

I appreciate the offer Sophoroto, Jess is safe with my staff. I will bring her along if you would like when we have the sit down, she's only 8 but acts more like she's between 8 and 80 depending on her mood. The old part is from my mentor's influence.

Looks like things are coming to a head here in Germany, which means I should be free in a day or two. I'll be over to your place Micheal as soon as I can. We still have business to discuss, and maybe I can help with the interrogation.

So the elders said that if the neophytes want to raise hell, it's none of their buisness?

What a crock.

Unfourtanatlty Ron many cabals of mages feel that way, but it also means that they should stay out of my way if I need to disipline some of the young ones. I am going to be watching them as well as the young ones, I have gotten a bit untrusting of such situations recently.

Sophoroto I think she would like to talk to another person closer to her age who is getting into magic for her personal curiousity. We will see you soon.

Personally, I think it's a sign that if their youngin's are attacking you it serves their purposes.

I agree... The actions of members of a group reflect on the group itself. I've seen it time and again in forum wars and whatnot online... The old texts I have mention similar things happening in old times. I don't keep up with modern groups, but...

Tread carefully, Michael.

Well a small group of youg ones attacked me last night at a club I have recently aquired. Luckily no one but my self and staff were there, they came in with everything they had flying to take me down. My staff has been around for mages going to war before and dove for cover or used charms that they had to protect themselves during thier retreat. I now have a gutted building and several nasty burns for the night's outing.

I am getting tired of this mess, but I did get the title of an old arcane script from one of the now deceased young men. I am currently studing up on that.

Mr. T, what was the nature of the magic they were using?

How badly burned were you? Are you all right, Michael? Will your injuries heal without too much trouble?

The burns are fairly severe, but will be healed later tonight. I need to let one of the talismans I have recharge before it can be used to heal the injuries, I am conserving my own reserves in case of attack. I am getting close to some answers with the research on the old script, I may have more answers as of tomorrow on that.
Sophoroto the magic was not out of the ordinary, very much a good old standard mage's style and feel. I noticed that they seemed to tire fast after only a few spells.
Bert a couple did have invunrability spells and were nearly completely bullet proof as one of my staff discovered when trying to help with thier .40 Glock. I think I can wrap this up as long as the elders stay out of it, but I may yell for help from you yet so I appreciate the offer.

Michael, would you like me to send one of my EMF devices to your location? I only hessitate because your own abilities seem to be so tied up with "magic" that the same things that dampen the abilities of your opponents would dampen yours as well, of course if you were prepared for the effect and they were not.....

Thank you for the offer Kei, I can cause most magic relient foes to have the problem of thier spells failing but not my own. I am very appreciative of your offer but I don't think I would like to walk into an area that is under the EMF influence and forget it was on.
I also had 2 uninvited guest just a moment ago, they broke into my library and were going to raid my collection. Unfortunatly for them they did not stop to think about what might be guarding my main collection. I am not even sure of what gender they were. The golem guarding the area did'nt leave much to ID them by other than DNA. I am getting really annoyed with these novices trying to get to me or my belongings. I am getiing ready to pay them back some, but it may cause issuse as a few of them are still staying with their mentors.

Mr. T, I was wondering if they were using a style like those talked about in the philosiphers corner and if so are there different ways you have to protect yourself from the deffering styles?

The style is very much sorcery Sophoroto, and I have a few trick in my arsenal to protect me from quite a bit. I have not noticed any difference in the style of sorcery used to say it needs a different classification. Oh and I understand you are being respectful by calling me Mr. T but I would much prefer Michael please.

Yes sir Mr. Michael, you can call me Soph.

If you need any talismans of protection I can have Mr. Phillips bring you some, besides he is a really good arcanist, he is the one who teaches me when Mr. Greydawn is gone.

Again thank you Soph, I have three arcanist worth of talismans and charms. The items from my wife and from my mentor, I am a bit leary of getting anyone else pulled into this mess just yet. As you have seen your self a young mage can be just as dangerous as any old timer, I don't want the brats getting lucky on some one trying to help me yet. I will keep you updated on my ideas and call if help is needed.

*chuckles* No offense intended to anyone, but every time Sophoroto called you "Mr. T", I had flashbacks to the 80's, and big black guys wearing entirely too many gold chains... XD
