Kolya believes a lycanthrope is no longer human. It is not a virus that afflicts someone. It is no longer someone, just a monster.
I think that first we have to determine if lycanthropy is actually a disease, or if it is actually irrevocably morphs one's nature from human into monster. And then is it really irrevocable.

Not all lycanthrope are evil, there are races of were-creatures that are born that way. They are as varied in thier outlook on life as any human. Not all are blood thirsty animals, many are as good as any of us. They are just very rare to find, most the were-creatures wwe find here on earth are evil.

Beware the monster within, least it escape and take over your life.
Generally it can be near impossible, some of the were-creatures that are created like a vampire are easily found as they are so inhuman in behavior. Mostly a goosd detect lies spell or a psychic doing similar can lead to one who was born to a race of such creatures. From there it's like any human on telling the good from the bad. I know that is not a perfect answer as to how you can trust one, but the same can be sad of trusting other humans.

You've read the reports from Moscow of what I do to human monsters, I am not saying go to every were-creature expecting to find good. Hell 99% of the ones we encounter are evil, but maybe try to open the mind to the fact there may be good ones out there. Just don't go blindly into beliving the creature on it being good.

I will try to explain my statement, from before.
Kelly was a young lady who was also the local Bartender in Cypress Cove. Holister's home town. She was also a Were-Wolf, and when the shit hit the fan there she was on the side of he angels as it were. Bert talked to her more and could tell you more. She is to my knowledge back home now.
Bearshamen posted here and some of you talked to him. He to was a Were-Wolf, and a Mystic who worked with a team of humans before some of them were killed by something they had been tracking. Then he went solo for a time.
The last I think any of us heard from him he was headed to Asia to get a rather nasty box to somewhere safe, but I have heard nothing from him for a long time now.
Both of them were beings of compassion and honor, at the very least they were the exception that defines the rule. As I also have dealt with more Were-Beasts that were evil rather than good.

Everithing I've read about it states that the whole "human flesh" thing you're SO eager to point out occurs when in the altered form. Which implies that *as a human*, a werewolf isn't about to go hog-wild in your local nursery school anytime soon. If you can prevent the change, why not do it, instead of the "everything must die" mentality?
You traded in your wings
For everything freedom brings
You never left me
You never let me
See what this feeling means
Everything that you feel
Is everything that I feel
So when we dream
We shout....

You never left me
You never let me
See what this feeling means
Everything that you feel

We shout....
