Pinning demons down is difficult. You are exactly right. Maybe a giant anti-magic cloud or one of those disruption generators. Several things we are thinking about.Bert_the_Turtle wrote:Which if it is provoked to run it can be eliminated by fighter craft. If it stays put we can nuke it. We'll probably want to find a way to keep it from teleporting, that's the only wild card.

Everything would have to be sent in pieces unless we can get a bigger portal.Ron Caliburn wrote:Again, what are the Russians willing and able to send? Not like either of us know.
But before that we have to have some infrastructure and logistics in place to cope with that. Like Bert said, an airfield would be a great asset, but building it would take more time than we have. A small airfield, maybe.
We were able to get some fairly small helicopters through. But keeping them fueled and maintained was a bitch.
Fuel, electricity, plumbing, everything necessary for installing, building the aircraft, sustaining even a small permanent forward operating base is beyond the scope of this mission. It would be a huge under taking.
That is why we are just keeping a low profile. Much easier to maintain and much less of a target.

I am from this world as well and hurricaines are the least of your worries on the seas. There are sea serpents that can drag a large sailing vessel to the ocean floor, things like the frigate that is still in active service with the US navy. And there are dragons that may take interest in the new item on the ocean below, there are more dangers but these are the biggest to be pointed out. If any one would like more information I can be reached through Michael's PM or email. I am not an expert on all of the world but will share what I do know.

Road speed 50 mph, water 6 mph
Its main use is as an amphibious truck shuttling people and supplies between ships and from ship to shore in support of an invasion. So if we load one or more up with supplies when we assault the demon's stronghold our supplies will be able to keep pace with us.

I belive I can help with the harbor, an earth elemental would dig one relitively fast and a water elemental can keep most the water out of the area to allow faster work on the dosks and other need infrastructer. I just got in and am trying to catch up from the last few days of post and buisness.
