All to often a rifle is a bad choice when dealing with a Vampire, even useing the right ammo at long ranges the chances are the round will go through instead of stop in the target. Basicly it will hurt a vampire but not stop it.

I've found that for range and stopping power a sabot round silver hallow point slug through a rifled barrael works very well, you can be accurate up to and over 150 yards, and the hallow point reduces the chance of over penitration.

With pure silver slugs you need a holow point to ensure expansion . . . the silver is too hard otherwise.

I have no problems with hollow points, silver is expensive. The less I have to use the happier my checkbook will be.

Which is why I used the exposed silver core rounds - low silver content, remains effective against normal critters, no overpenetration.

Yea, really never want to overpenetrate.
