Help needed...
Hey, Amy. Interested in bringing a suspended cop with ya? If something supernatural's involved, it'll be my second encounter, but I'm a decent shot when it comes down to it. If you want someone a little more experienced for the job, that's fine. I'm just looking for an opportunity to get my hands dirty, and since you're so nearby, it sounds like a good chance.

Ley Lines, otherwise known of as Dragon Lines. The first recorded information of them comes from the Chinese Geomancers, practitioners of the true Fung Shui. (This is pretty much a dead discipline at this moment. Most every practitioner you hear about these days are fools or charlatans.)
Anyway... These are natural lines of 'Potential Psychic Energy' that flow along the surface of the planet, and along the deeper areas of the Astral Plane. Think of them like blood vessels running along the surface layer of the living earth, realy. They pump a constant flow of energy out, which reacts to other amplifying cosmic agencies (Like eclipses or planetary alignments). Where they intersect the energy flows out even more strongly, to the point of over buildup and flaring out, causing strange effects and occasional Rifts in the fabric of reality.
These are natural forces at work, and for the most part their power is accessible by all. However, I've heard tell that in other realms, people have learned to cap Nexi (Nexuses? what is the proper plural for that?) like oil wells, and by doing so tap the power of an entire network of Ley lines for one magical purpose or another.

Look for practitioners of feng shui associated with taoist, bhuddist, and shinto shrines/temples. As religious persons rather than business persons (disregard any who charge a fee) they are more interested in promoting peace and well being than any other form of reward.
Understanding, is not a thing that comes swiftly, but rather in stages, a journey that once begun, must be seen to it's end.
Indeed... I've found that there are true practitioners of a new form of Feng Shui. It's apparently not quite the same as the old art, and it's almost entirely an Eastern phenomenon, but it is out there...and as Li-sensei said, none of them would charge money for their arts.
There may be Westerners who have read about the old arts, and are trying to emulate their effects, but by and large, most Westerners who claim to know much of anything about Feng Shui are, as Adama said, charlatans out to rip you off...
As for Ley Lines, the only thing Adama left out is why they're also referred to as Dragon Lines...which really isn't that hard a concept to figure out; oftentimes, dragons (being creatures of energy) flock to these lines to feed, rest, and recharge. People around the world were finding dragons attracted to the lines, and so they got that nickname.

Fortunately Miss Hannah that is a fallacy. The few Tatsu that I know cannot currently manage to manifest a physical form for any real length of time. (Is this a phenomena unique to the eastern dragons, or are your winged ones also by nature creatues of pure energy?) But I have been blessed with a few moments of debate with the Tatsu who is resident in the Shrine of Ise, a wise and learned being.

The dragons of my homeland do not turn into energy, they are energy - they can with a sufficient store of energy become material. They feed off of, and are a part of the natural flow of energy that crosses from one place to another. (kind of like a spiritual form of electricity - energy flows from a place of surplus to a place of deficiency through the path of least resistance) The Tatsu are an intelligent, self aware manifestation of that energy, to my knowledge they have always been there, are still here (even if most slumber so deeply they cannot be contacted even when found), and I dearly hope will always be here.
Yes Miss Hannah, I have had the good fortune to speak with three Tatsu in my life. The Tatsu of Ise (who grows weaker by the year as the old ways of my country lessen the flow of energy through the shrine of Amaterasu built over his home) who is a wise being, and very protective of my people - particularly those of imperial decent. The Tatsu of Fuji-no-Takane, who although wise is cold and aloof, seldom deigning mortal beings to be worth arousing from her slumber, in spite (or perhaps because) of the richness of the energy in that place. And the Tatsu of Izumi, a meddling creature with far too much interest in my people's politics and out imperial line (he and the Tatsu of Ise have clashed many times in history and legend, both personally and through various proxies)

Eat them? Oh my, no. They do not eat anything, there have been stories of samurai, preists and the occasional maiden being consumed by them, but that would be more like being consumed by a large fire - our frail forms were never intended to withstand that much energy.
I will start a seperate topic for this discussion, and start with one of the legends that I loved pondering on the deeper meanings of in my youth.
