First Encounter

Post by ShadowsLight »

My first encounter with the 'unnatural' was when I was 20. It was late sping and me and some freinds were out camping in a local forest. After lunch we decided to do some hiking, we spread out to cover more ground. I found what looked like a cave at first, when I got closer I could see a 'wall' of shadow it looked almost solid, I tried shining my flashlight into it but light couldn't penitrate it. I was sure I could see movement so I touched it and my hand went into it, it was a bizarre sensation hot and cold at the same time, then I felt something grab my hand. It felt like being flash frozen and incinerated at the same time. When I woke up my freinds had draged me back to camp and bandaged my hand and half my fore arm. The next night it felt like something was moving under my skin so I took the bandage off only to find my hand was jet blackwith weird 'tenticals' of shadow traveling up my arm, it was the 'tenticals' that were moving.

It wasn't even an hour later before this 'thing' showed up. It looked like some twisted combination of a coyote and scorpion. Luckily we had some guns to protect ourselves from bears and wild cats, and we blew it to hell. In the morning we went back to where the 'cave' was, it was just a small cliff face, solid stone, there were some odd marks on it, that looked like they were drawn on with another rock. Since then every time something unnatural or supernatural whatever you wanna call it is near I can feel the black marks on my arm move. I'm sure every year these tenticals climb further up my arm, I don't wanna think what will happen if they reach something vital like my brain or heart. I'm telling this story so if anyone else finds one of these 'shadow' caves they won't make the same mistake, whatever was on the other side of that wall damn near pulled me in.

The way I see it my black hand is my burden, but it also gives me an edge, knowing when nasties are around.

I am sorry to hear of your burdon and my prayers are with you. I wish I had something to offer you as far as looking for a cure to rid this curse as I would be worried about it spreading too, but alas I dont. If I happen to run across something that may help I will forward it on immediatly. I can say however that I have heard rumor of a Navajo tribe in Utah somewhere that is very adept at removing curses and unatural aliments, perhaps you should look into that lead?

Nobody ever forgets their first time, but some of us are left with more reminders than others.

The idea about the Navajo is a good one, even if they can't cure it, they should be able to tell you at least what it is and what it will do.

we can all use any edge we can get in this war, and you've got one that most of us don't - you know when things are comming. I'm stuck with my best guess on if I'm dealing with a kid with a twisted sense of humour or a real undead vampire. That's one call you don't want to be wrong on.

Yet again another delusional has found this site and lets his wild imagination out of it's cage. Do yourself a favor and leave now and seek help before you can't.

Ya know what debunker I'd send you a photo but you'd just tell me its a creepy tattoo, and since I've never gotten a tattoo in my life I'd like to know what you think this "black mark" is? because i know the rest of the world isn't imagining it.

Well as far as navajo I'm usually too busy to hunt down a shaman to talk to who actually knows anything, but I have some freinds of mine in the Rosicrucian Order doing some reseach. They're the scholorly types, otherwise i'd be kickin their butts to help their brother. . me... in the fight. . but they're better with spells and research then combat.

In a nutshell, the Rosicrucians are one of the more well known magical orders, up there with the Order of the Golden Dawn.

Order of the Golden Dawn?

You'll have to forgive me, I kill monsters, not study magic orders.

oh dear... well, the original Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was a magical fraternity founded in London in 1888 by a Dr. William Wynn Wescott... officially, they ceased to exist in 1903, but there have been innumerable splinter groups and copycats since then.

The Rosicrucians, on the other hand, are much older, allegedly founded in 1407 by a German man named Christian Rosenkreuz...

If you'll excuse me, I believe I'll have to call off today's history lesson... I seem to have just heard something out back. I do hope the creature that's taken up residence in our shed hasn't decided to stop being so docile... I'm simply without the means to deal with it if it has.

Another egghead.

Thanks for the lesson, here's one in return - the things from beyond don't make good pets.

Oh, I'm quite aware of that sir... it keeps terrorizing the cats; poor Max keeps losing little bits of his ears since it moved in. But my mother does have a strict no weapons policy for the house and I wouldn't know how to handle any weapons if we did have them, so there's not much to be done about it. For the most part though, it seems to be fairly benign... other than the cat-chewing, it mainly seems to be eating the local woodchucks and raccoons. And it does seem to be keeping the more nasty beasties away.

The Rosicrucian Order aka The White Brotherhood Is much older then that. It started in egypt befor the hebrews left. The Rosicrucians look at magic as a science not a religion, allowing them to practice with out all the dogma attached. They only call it magic for lack of a better word. They view magic as simply another energy, like electricity, nuclear energy etc. the energy itself is neutral how its used can be good or evil.

toying with what you dont understand is dangerous so the oder teaches its students to understand magic befor teaching them how to perform it.

Scars?

Some scars are physical, others are mental—there are also some that leave no discernable mark. But they are there nevertheless.
