I am Waiting For . . . What?

Post by Celeste Darken »

For the past few weeks, I have had nothing but excitement, and I should be exhilarated about it. Whether I am keeping Ron’s streets safe while he tends to Hannah or discussing the ideals of justice, redemption, and mercy with Ben, I have discovered new methods of applying my powers and thinking. I feel as though I am on an escalator moving up so rapidly it is a good thing I can’t breathe. I cannot turn around without something happening. Indeed, this feeling of unrest seems to have permeated the entire Society; I cannot turn any way without reading about the newest escapades of our members. I feel I have taken a backseat to many of the happenings here. I find myself waiting for something else to happen to keep up this “buoyancy” I feel. Because of this, when things get quiet, I wait with the proverbial bated breath . . . and things aren’t happening. I know this feeling is wrong, and I’ve done what I can to adjust it. I have made my presence unequivocally known within Ron’s hunting grounds, since he has been busy with Hannah. I speak philosophically with Ben. And all the while, when I do those things, I am content. And yet I find myself chafing underneath the tranquility of when they aren’t. I find myself waiting. And I also find myself . . . .

Dare I say it . . .?

Bored.

Oh boy!?! Just how wrong can things go when a Vampire says she is bored? I think we are about to find out.

How come when someone round here says that they "Are Bored" all Hell breaks loose and bad stuff happens to them.

Me, I say "Im Bored" and I get a job offer.

Go Figure :?

The jury is still out on whether or not that job offer is a good or bad thing.

Well that's good. Don't forget to go back home from time to time though. I bet Molly misses you. And if you tell me she stowed away again I'm gonna assume she's the smartest apple that fell out of the tree

I have been calling them both at bedtime, and even have been reading Molly her favorite bedtime story. Just to hear her say, "I love you daddy" damn near brings a tear to my eye each time.

Hi Celeste,

If you were bored, you should have gone out to fight the mosnter with my Pa last night.
