Belladrox unveiled

Post by GhostSpider »

For any of you not familiar with my personal crusade against this monster, check out An Alarming Trend in Agency Voice.

It seems that after much searching, I have finally made progress in the search for information on Belladrox.

Thanks to the Obertine Brotherhood and their ENORMOUS library, my team and I have finally gotten a handle on this beast.

First of all, Belladrox is NOT free, well not totally anyways. Here's the scoop. It seems that back in 1328 Pope John the XXII issued a secret Papal Edict. Now while I did not find the contents of that Edict (if anyone has contacts in the Vatican, can you see if they can get me a copy of this edict) I do know that an army of over 10,000 men marched out of Italy a week later. Now history states that this army was bound for Bavaria, to initiate the crusade that had been called against Louis of Bavaria (politics for the Pope were simpler back then, you piss him off, he excommunicates you and then calls a crusade on your ass).

This army never made it to Bavaria. In fact, it never made it out of Italy. It simply just dissapeared, not a single soldier was ever seen again. At least according to the "official" history books.

Thanks to information we found in the Obertine library, it seems that this army ran afoul of a serious bad ass of a monster (the Obertine records called it an Intelligence) called Belladrox, who was newly arrived to our dimension. How he arrived is not documented (once again i'd like to renew my request for a peek into the vaticans records).

Now without the contents of John's Edict, I really don't know whether this was an accidental meeting or if John knew about Belladrox's arrival and sent an army to crush it (sounding like a broken record, I would REALLY like to look at that edict) or this army just had rotten luck. Whatever the case, the army was wiped out and Belladrox was bound into an inter-dimensional prison. A very special kind of prison.

I will post more after I read the very interesting e-mail I just recieved.

And since then Ben has been very easy to find at night.

So it took a 10 000 man army to force this thing into a prison ... sounds like we should have it taken care of in 5, 10 minutes tops.

What a world.

Actually Ron, the army didn't do squat. From what I've read, it sounds like the army was about as effective as a couple of flys attacking a rhino. What it sounds like to me, is that the army was just one DAMN big sacrifice. 10,000 lives going to feed a mega powerful spell.

More on that later.

Unfortunately, we could sacrifice every joe and harry in the entire US prison system and still not repeat the spell. It died with its caster (who was burned at the stake by a nascent inquistition just two weeks after Belladrox was locked away).

Now the sorcerer who locked Belladrox away couldn't create an inescapable prison, so he instead just made it really difficult for Belladrox to escape. He made sure that the locks couldn't be manipulated by evil beings or beings with evil intentions. But here is the kicker: the sorcerer created three locks and into each bound a different aspect of Belladrox, physical, spiritual, and magical.

My team and I released Belladrox's spirit. His physical body and mystical powers are still safetly locked away. At least for now. Belladrox can not affect the world currently, but that doesn't mean he can't influence his followers.

The locks were referenced in the Obertine library, but were only described in metaphor. My team found "the font of knowledge" (a library), but "the heart at world's end", and "the graves of a 1,000 ravens" are still a mystery. I really hope that they stay that way.

But whoo's to say he doens't know what they are and isn't sending his followers after them?

Time for more research I think.

Actually Ron, Belladrox knows exactly where the other two locks are. He is bound to them and so he knows there location at all times. Thankfully, his followers can not manipulate the locks. They can however manipulate foolish do-gooders into opening them.

This whole binding business is interesting. Our strange amulet mineral thing is sort of bound.

Anyway, what is the situation here? The world coming to an end or what?

Sort of "conditionally" bound.

I wish we knew how to contact its owner straightly. Would save us time in our chase.

No, no. The world is not ending chicken little :P .
Even if Belladrox is released, he'll be too weak (if only temporarily) to destroy the world.

What amulet?

Alright, i've got good news and bad news. Good news: I've found a key to one of the locks. Bad news: i've found a key to one of the locks.

I know that Belladrox made sure I would get my hands on it, and he made sure I would learn of how to destroy it (and consequently ruin his chances of ever getting free). Before anyone asks, it's not worth it. The cost is too high. The more that I see the rules surrounding the prison, the more that I know that Belladrox must have had some hand in making it. You could drive a truck through the loop holes.

I'd ask someone to hold the key in a super max vault, but I frankly don't trust anyone but myself with it.
