A riddle to share
The cherry blossom falls
an empty mind
Experiences eternity in a moment.
My Master taught me that when I was a mere Kohei. It took me 10 years to realize it was a key. Took another 15 to find the power it unlocks (amazing what we have locked away inside just waiting to be unlocked) Took another 5 years to learn to bring it at will. Maybe in another 5 years it will not be so draining afterward.
"Kohei, this riddle is a powerfull gift. It's power cannot be taught or given. It must be understood and unlocked by each person who would use it - when you are ready it will come" Ashikaga Kenichi

Ryokan, lived the simplest kind of life in a little hut at the foot of a mountain. One evening a thief visited the hut only to discover there was nothing in it to steal.
Ryokan returned and caught him. "You may have come a long way to visit me," he told the prowler, "and you shoud not return emptyhanded. Please take my clothes as a gift."
The thief was bewildered. He took the clothes and slunk away.
Ryokan sat naked, watching the moon. "Poor fellow, " he mused, "I wish I could give him this beautiful moon."

That is lovely Shang, keep that up and I am going to be hard pressed to follow your request and not seek vengence...but I will not raise a hand against Holister.
Somethings man was not meant to know..others man doesn't want to know.
Master Li... Should anything happen, I will not stay my hand...but it will not be my friend who I will seek vengence against.
He who is responsible is different from my friend...and he shall know the value of what he will have taken from this world.
Though it goes against your wishes, I fear I am not strong enough to follow them.
Let us pray, instead, that nothing comes of this.

I am at peace my friend, moreso than I ever have been before. However this turns out is the way things must be.
Daiju visited the master Baso in China. Baso asked: "What do you seek?"
"Enlightenment," replied Daiju.
"You have your own treasure house. Why do you search outside?" Baso asked.
Daiju inquired: "Where is my treasure house?"
Baso answered: "What you are asking is your treasure house."
Daiju was delighted! Ever after he urged his friends: "Open your own treasure house and use those treasures."

I would apreciate it if anyone with an experience where everything seemed to slow down around them would post the details here. I am trying to see if I can find anything that is constant with them. The better I understand such things the more likely I am to find a way to make them more "reliable". Is it the key that is constant, or the doorway that it unlocks?

I once was sparring with my brother and I really was just open, and working on letting my training and reflexes run the fight rather than intellectualize or tap into the emotions. He did a jumping front snap kick and there was this moment where everything stood still, but my hands moved with no hurry, and smoothly and caught his foot in a cross block, followed by a front kick to the tailbone while he was still on his way up. The world went black and he was flat on his back. It happened so fast, at least to a concious mind we both had no idea what happened, until I went back over it, and watched it again.
Interesting experience.

It might be enhanced senses, but... then again... I don't have enhanced senses, BUT I use them far better than most people, and pay more attention to them. I notice things faster because of it, so to most people my senses seem enhanced.
Then again, shades, you're not the typical tomato.

The working of adrenalin, or an illusion of time, or anything similar is exactly what I am looking for, the more detailed you can be about the few seconds prior to the event, and what was going on in your mind at the time the more help it will be.
I hope to find a commonality which may allow me to better explain the proper state of mind and body to make such an event happen at will, rather than relying on it happening at random. (As I understand it everyone experiences such events on a semi regular basis, if less extreme than some of the rest of us)

The example I remember most clearly, I was fighting a monster in the upper floors of a building. Strange thing, no head or neck, but still seemd to be able tosee or hear me.
Anyway, the thing charged me and we broke through a window, some eight or nine stories up.
I can distinctly remember each shard fo glass twinkling in the streetlights. I can remember swivelin my body, still locked with the creature, as we flew clear of the building. I can remember the impact of my foot on it's sternum as I kicked clear of it. I remember blasting it wiht my shotgun . . . I can still see the pattern the pellets made on it's skin. I rememebr it flailing as it fell, trying to grab me or grab something. I remamber catchign the light post and stopping so suddenly I felt my arm pop out of its socket and slam back in. I remember the sound of the monster hiting the street.
Then eveyrthing returned to normal.

I likened it to a wave crashing on the beach - you feel each individual sea shell, pebble, grain of sand, everything at once, but only for that moment when the wave strikes and then it is all gone.
So far, that is the best I can come up with, and I have been trying.
Then again, I am not the brightest star in the sky.

This is true Koyla, right now I hope to understand more of the "how" of the experience. (Perhaps I can learn a way to teach it, that and it gives me something to focus on other than memories)

I've had that happen to me a few times. Mostly it gave me enough time to realize how fucked I was but not enough to actually do anything. A few times things slowed down just a little which allowed me to predict how a given even would turn out (where a Mortar was going to land, where a truck was going to collide, etc.)
But once, just once, it saved my life.
I heard a gunshot from behind me. One of the enemy SpecOps soldiers that I thought we'd killed had a little life left in him.
I turned and saw a bullet heading towards me. Time came to almost total standstill.
I had just enough time to react and move. Even I was moving at super slow speed. I bent back and time resumed, the bullet gave me a bloody lip, you can still see the scar.
