The tome is recovered but need assistance
Over the weekend, we were able to recover the tome from the cult. However, I am now faced with a problem. The cultists want it, the old man from my visions is demanding it, but I am sure that I just want to destroy the thing. However, that is what has created my problem.
So far we have attempted to destroy it by fire, acid and wood chipper, but nothing seems to faze the thing. It actually damaged the wood chipper when we put it into it. One thing I did notice while trying to burn it, there was an odd symbol on each page and on the binding that glowed while in the flame.
Any suggestions on how to permanently rid the world of this thing?

DarkKnyht if you could send me some information on this tome I maybe able to help with it's destruction if it is needed. If it is not a inherently evil item I maybe able to learn from it, if evil and I am not able to destroy it (unlikely it just may take awhile to destroy) I can lock it away where no one can get to it.
If you need references on my charecter Shadowstalker, Kolya and KT have had fairly long discussions with me that were a mixture of buisness and pleseant conversation.

No offense, but right now I don't really care at this point if it is good, bad, or just a book. I know at least two powerful forces are trying to get this thing, and I am no longer sure if the world would benefit from either side or anyone else possessing it.
I will message you this evening with details.

Have you tried
1) An iron spike driven through the center.
2) A holy water dunk tank
3) An acid bath.
4) A massive jolt of lightning
5) Ultra violet light
6) Returning the book to Mt Doom and throwing it into the volcano where it was forged..
er, scratch that last one. I got confused with LOTR.

I actually thought about that one. Putting in concrete and sending it to the bottom of the ocean. I am just of the opinion that it would not stay there.
I am contacting Michael T tonight and see if he will be able to figure something out.

I have afew leads to research in greater detail, PM me I would like to look this book over. If needed we can make sure that the cult after it sees me take the book form you and it may draw them off of you for awhile. Some of what you mentioned Holister would work, but this book has something about it that is familiar to me. I belive my mentor had a few books that where as indestrutible as this one seems to be, the pages at least. DarKnyht again I would like to look at the tome and I may have an answer on how to destroy it, or at the least be able to seal it away from the cult in a few days.

Michael T. has the manual. I met him this afternoon and the exchange went with no problem. At first I did not recognize him, then he gave the sign which I countersigned. Seeing my injuries, he offered to heal them to which I am very grateful. I have some work to do and I don't need injuries to slow me down.
Anyways, he has the tome and hopefully he will be able to determine a way to destroy it.

Well this is a most unusally tome, I have spent long hours researching it's nature and found one gauranteed way to destroy it. We need the creator, they are the only one who can be assured of unmaking the tome. Since they are most likely dead by now we need to find thier remains to destroy the tome with any sucsess. If I try any of the methods I know it may cause the tome to vanish in a cloud of smoke, to reappear elswhere. I can keep it in a very secure area that should be hard to get to till we can find a way to dispose of it long term.
Sorry I could not give more enlightening news DarKnyht.

Thanks for the update Michael. At least now we know the thing can be destroyed. I appreciate you keeping it safe for now. I will start looking into Nordic histories & legends to see if I can find some reference the tome and it's author.
I will keep everyone updated on what I find.

As Michael said, everything I have dealt with has been Nordic in origin. The original family that attempted to use the book was from that region, so I am only drawing a logical conclusion that they found the book through their family heritage.
Also, I may of forgotten to post in my excitement in recovering the book that it was definitely runes that were glowing on it when it was in the fire. Michael can confirm this, but I am fairly sure the writing is in runic. The symbols that I was able to identify came from Elder Futhark, which was used to write proto-Norse. However, they also have runes I couldn't find any matches for.
My only hope now then, is to look into the history of that culture and see if the book is mentioned anywhere else.

Cool, thanks for the clarification.
I missed it somehow.
Been so busy keeping my own details in order that others might slip through.
What is it with people summoning things lately. This is exactly what we have been dealing with for the last several months.
Crazy people doing crazy things.

The Runes in question are a form of magic writing. My mentor had several tomes with these Runes on them, the ones on the pages basicly make the pages indestructable, now the ink is a very interesting thing. Normally the Runes do not protect the ink used on the page, much as they did not protect the binding in this tome. I would love to find information on the process to create the ink used in this tomes creation.
On to other notes about this tome, I belive it may have been ment to futher a older more powerful cult. Earth once had a much more potent magical flow, that has faded to a slow ebb now. Partly due to man building the things we have and to a natural cycle in the nature of magic. This is why there are so many monoliths and sites that held power in the past that now show no signs of said power. I think a single mage of compotent power could have summoned Hela without all the pomp and show this cult needs.
Good thing it was lost for so long eh?
