Re: Caleb's Point: A History
The old man went quiet. I couldn't take it. "What happened next?" After a few more minutes he spoke. " I don't know for sure, I can only tell you want Pani Gorski told me when we got out." "They picked up and carried as many of us that went down screaming. MacInnis put up a ...

Re: Caleb's Point: A History
The creatures slowly approached, just close enough that your imagination took over and projected your nightmares. The one in a robe approached and stopped in front of Dennis, who had slowly distanced himself from us. "You played your part well, slave." "Master, my reward?" came ...

Re: Caleb's Point: A History
"When the day came, all of us showed up. We put on the talismans and started the trek into the caves. The falls drop into the caves and run for no one is sure how long before coming out on or within the mountains it runs into. The caves however, snake and maze around creating quite a messy lab...

Re: Caleb's Point: A History
"All we have to do is walk in and complete the sealing ritual. If all of us go, there will be enough power for it to work and we can all go home." , Diana finished. "You sure this thing will work?" "What's wrong George, you aren't growing weak on us? If you are, you can sta...

Caleb's Point: A History
So after my encounters that I retold last week, I spent a few days out of commission. The exertion was way more than my doctor advised and my body wasn't ready for it. I've also been tied with trying to find a job that doesn't involve doing half a mile into the ground and to educate myself on the wo...

Re: Not sure what has happened
While I know that everything was over in seconds, it felt like an eternity in my mind. The jaws of the beast clamped on the branch. It offered some resistance, but almost immediately began to break. I felt the weight of the beast shoving me back town into the dirt. My body was covered in a cold swea...

Re: Not sure what has happened
Before I continue, I guess I should clarify something. There is a Caleb's Point in West Virginia, and I guess that is where whoever was posting as DarKnyht prior (if what you claim is true that is me also) was posting from. The place I am writing from is here in Western Virginia. I know confusing, ...

Re: Not sure what has happened
The evening was cool as I walked along the river path towards the state park. The plan was to clear my mind and that seemed to be as good of a place as any. I could see the sun starting to dip behind the mountains, and the lights on the pathways were lighting up. After about 20 minutes of walking I ...

"I can't tell you how to make it work," he replied sadly. "The knowledge is in that head of yours, locked up tight. I have a friend that may be able to help with that." "She and her son are probably the two most powerful left in the valley. However, their fear of one losing...

Re: Not sure what has happened
After leaving the church I wandered for a while. It felt like I was just trying to remove an oppressive force confining me. But I realized the old man had one thing right, I needed a place to stay. I found a motel not far from the heart of the town. I checked in and took my meager possessions to my ...

Re: Not sure what has happened
The first drink disappeared fast. So fast that I almost didn't realize it was gone and replaced with the second. The rifle he had used was now resting again in the gun rack. The coffee in my hands was taking the chill from them, but I had no interest in it. After a few seconds, the old man started. ...

Re: Not sure what has happened
I am not sure why I find myself posting all of this. Maybe I just need to vent my ideas. Maybe it is me looking for a connection to who I was. Whatever it is I feel drawn here. Sorry man, but this is indeed real. It is not often one gets to fall down the rabbit hole a second time. Welcome back to th...

Re: Not sure what has happened
The old man stood over me, just past him I could see the thing blowing away like dust. "Welcome to Hell, or at least as close to it as either of us will hopefully come to it. Next time listen to me and carry your damn gun. Someone managed to finally rig the system a little, you almost blew it b...

Not sure what has happened
I recently recovered from a very serious accident. Apparently someone found me unconscious on a back road near my hometown and I have spent 5 years in a hospital bed in a coma. I don't remember anything except for me driving somewhere down a dark road and being blinded by a light that seemed to come...

Re: Ghost of Bill Hanes
We managed to track down the creature. We quickly found that physical attacks seemed to have no effect on it, much to the sorrow of my back. Fortunately, a new ally appeared and saved our lives and helped us to defeat us. The bad news is that for the unforeseen future, I am out of commission. I was ...

Re: Thoughts on Christianity and the Supernatural
I am reminded of the words of Mohandas Ghandi: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." Too often Christ is misquoted so that a "Christian" can lead other people to do what he wants them to do not what Christ would have said...

Re: Adventures in Necromancy
There are certain things that need doing, and a certain ruthlessness they need to be done with. Being a nice guy isn't going to win this battle. I'm going to have to kill a whole lot of people, evil and misguided, to finally end this. Its not something I want to do, or look forward to doing. Still,...

Bodie pulled the file on Hanes and he found something interesting, the knife that was put into evidence is missing. There is now an investigation going on in the sheriff's office to find out who may have taken it. They now think that whoever has the knife is behind the attacks. Still doesn't explain...

I think what she is saying is that motivations play into morality a great deal. Everyone does good when it benefits them, but a truly good person does good when there is no benefit (even when it means they may do harm to themselves).

Heh. I would call it normal for around here. But then most of us here tend go looking into places, that maybe we shouldn't. Yeah, I consider it a good thing that I had a moment of sanity and questioned that trend. While I wasn't present, Bodie had a run in with the thing that is Bill Hanes. He arri...

Re: Ghost of Bill Hanes
There have been yet more sightings of this mysterious visitor the past few nights, but so far no one has been seriously injured. Whatever this thing is, it is intelligent and is picking it's targets carefully. My own searches have turned up nothing. On a side note: I think this might be a sign I nee...

Boy are you behind the times DK. My helpless passenger and I combined months ago. Now all that is left is me. Perhaps I am or it might be that I am getting old. There is also the lack of sleep lately and the increased amount of stress overall in the general area I am at. Whatever the reason, I am s...

There was another attack. This time two women and they claim that the attacker was behind them and then right in front of them again when they turned and ran. Whoever it was, they were gone almost as quickly as the women were chased until a patrol car turned onto the road they were on. The officer c...

Halloween presentation spooks locals
Phantoms and Monsters brings us this story of a small town spooked by a real witch practicing their craft in front of children. A lack of understanding and possibly the influence of movies turned what was a simple presentation into a small town uproar.

Popeye eats spinach and is suddenly enabled to kick Bluto's ass. Psychological crutches. Popeye doesn't need spinach in order to kick Bluto's ass. Anyway. We were talking about Glen's situation, which has all of a sudden take a turn for the worse. This is going to seem very off topic, but I promise...

Strange, but could easily be done with After Effects and other digital editing tools. Heck, it could just be a puppet since it never actually comes out from behind the door. Unless there is something better than that I am not convinced. Same goes for the "UFO" posted by the British guy. Th...

I hope I never have to deal with something similar.

I am not sure of any specifically, but do some research on the original Native American tribes that lived there an their holy sites. Most likely, there are places of power that are either mentioned or once used by their shamans.
