The sadism of the main character (who is a former french paratroper rather than a CIA operative) is quite . . . well I think you should just read it.

If I recall correctly, we're talking one of the French Paras involved in supressing the Algerian independance movement.

If you know your history, that should make you shudder.

If you're referring to the current page of that comic, that's not an evil double... He's having a conversation with his inner sadist, so to speak. It's just the artist's way of depicting the whole "inner dialogue" thing.
