Yeah, throw out your computers and take stock in canned goods and shotgun shells.

That would be pretty much impossible unless you knew where every instance of the code is. Then do whatever it takes to destroy it.

Sounds like we need some kind of virus to ferret it out.

by Kolya
That is something for the geeks to determine. Sounds like something worth thinking about anyway.

What do those who'e seen the code think? Doable?

Uhhh, what if we digitized some sort of exorcision ritual that forced whatever this thing is back to where it belongs?

Posted: Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:25 am
by Kolya
wouldn't you have to track it to do that?

and does anyone know how ot do it anyway?

My tech guy has an idea for a possible stop gap measure, but to even try to put it in effect anytime soon would need some info from Tony and Kei Nakamura.

Whomever created the original disk does. And, we don't. If we get the cure to the internet before the curse then it'll take care of itself on a large scale.

Might the data provide a clue on how to digitize a spell like that?

Posted: Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:29 am

If the computer gets both, right?

Posted: Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:31 am
by Bert_the_Turtle
Presumeably. We get it on servers everywhere, particularly YouTube, to innoculate them.

If we can vaccinate the internet and computers agaisnt the data on the disk before the data gets out, it will be relatively harmless.

Exactly!

Posted: Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:33 am
by Kolya
Right, so we need to ensure that happens.

Posted: Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:35 am
by Bert_the_Turtle
Yeah. We have all the pieces I think. Just need to assemble them.

So who has the best hackers riding shotgun with them?

I can barely turn my computer on. You guys are on your own.

Kei sounds like she could handle it.

What about your geek friend, Ron?

Of course we got geeks of our own that might be able to get involved.

If Tony can swallow it...

My guy might be able to help . . . of course the code hasn't been anywere near us.

Posted: Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:39 am
by Kolya
Us, too. Obviously.

We need to figure out how the thing powers itself for starters.

Then how it triggers the ritualistic effect.

Then digitizing our own countermeasure should be the easy part.

Making sure everyone that needs it gets it, probably the hard part. But I really do not know how such htings work.

Label it as the newest awesome thing and spam everywhere with it.

If someoen has contacts with Microsoft, we could see if we could smuggle it into one of their upgrade patches. . .

Make sure it makes its way into spyware definitions for most security software company . . .

Disguise it as the Britney Spears sex video . . .

Hey, we're working now!

Now that's a plan I can support.

Well that would guarantee most men would open it, but most women wouldn't touch it. Any suggestions on that?
