I know the title dose not lend it's self to a War Story thread, but this is the best place to post this. I was out doing some investigateing in the Chi Town area, about eleven PM I felt a surge of magic not far away from where I was riding. I moved there fast as I could on the motorcycle I had picked up a week ago, traffic was a bit heavy for the time of night but managable. I turned into an old alley and dismounted, after a short walk I came upon a young lady casting a flame spell at an old dumpster. I watched and took note of her ability, it was sloppy and undisiplined, she was burning more energy than she needed to. As the spell lept at the dumpster a gutteral howl came from it and a Dybuuk raised to it's full ten foot hieght and roared at the young lady. She cast a second flame bolt that fizzled out before it could do much damage, she let fly with some language that would make a U.S Marine blush.

The ghoul leaped at her and tried to club her with it's oversized arm, she fell away and came up swinging a small dagger. She layed a small slash across the ghoul's arm, the beast howled in rage and recoiled a little before moving in again. I blasted the thing with a flame bolt to knock it away from her, dhe dove to the side to take cover as the blast of flame went over her head. The Dybuuk was not much of a fight once the young lady was clear.

Sorry for the delay in the story, I had issues to get resolved and it was not easy.

I turned to the young woman after the Dybuuk was dissapating, she was standing there looking at me like I had attacked her.

"I could have delt with that thing asshole! I did'nt ask for your help!" she yelled in anger.

"That creature is quite dangerous to anyone who goes after it thinking it to not be a threat. I was just making sure it went down and helping you not deplete your energy reserves. I am Michael, I noticed you used alot more energy than you needed to cast those spells, who taught you to cast?" I asked calmly.

"No one taught me jerk, I learned from some old books in my grandma's attic. Mind your own buissness." she said storming past me.

I have never been good at letting things go, I teleported in front of her. Her eyes widened and she stared at me while trying not to let her mouth hang open.

"How did you do that? I did'nt see any spells like that in the book!" came an excited response.

"I can teach you how to do cast it and more. Do you live with your grandmother?" I asked smileing.

I gathered she was living with her grandmother, who's health is going down hill fast. Andrea, a alias for now, was trying to find a way to earn cash to help pay medical bills and rent. She remiinded me of how my mentor described me at about her age, hard-headed, stubbron, quick tempered, and fiercely indepent. I liked her already. It took almost two hours before I got to meet the grandmother and offered Andrea a job as an intern to my antique buissness in the area and explained might invole traveland private tutors to insure her education continued uninterupted. I also explained that the job came with medical insurance for both of them.
Andrea argued about me handing out charity to her and her grandma, it took more time to convince her that was not what I was doing. She returned to the house to get a more thourgh training and testing, she has a very high reserve of magical energy, more than age would normally account for. My interuption earlier in the thread was due to Andrea trying to roast Jan for tellin her not to go through a shelf of arcane texts in the library. Luckily Jan is able to defend her self against low powered mages and angery fourteen year olds. I think maybe things will be calm now, at least for a little while.

I think life is going to get interesting with Andrea around now, luckily her and Jess seem to have hit it off well. I just worry that the two will end up partners in crime soon.

I hope all goes well for you

Hey, that describes me pretty well too. Though i'd have to add in arrogant and smart-ass, but the second really goes without saying.

Wow, a 14-year-old with a strong energy reserve? It's always been my experience that through the teenage years especially, a person's energy levels start dropping rapidly, only to rise again in the early twenties.

For someone her age to have a notable amount of energy is...extraordinary, to say the least.

Teach her well.
