Chicago weather

I just wanted to let everyone know, if any of y'all have relatives or loved ones in the Chicagoland area, you may want to give them a call, make sure they're okay... We are getting some MASSIVE storms around here.

I can't verify whether or not it's paranormal in nature, but I do know it's pretty bad. Between tornadoes and high winds, I know several houses were torn apart out here in the suburbs... UPS had a trailer rolled over on its side in the yard. My parents lost power and had a flooded basement at the same time.

So things are really nasty up here... The lightning is keeping me off my comp; I'm posting from my phone right now, and the storm has my connection down to a bar or two...so if I don't respond to PM's tonight, I'm sorry...

I have people in the area, who tell me they are having bad flashbacks form the Gulf Coast because of the weather in the mid-west right now.

So it's not just the IL area? I was starting to think it was...

I'm thinking of the machine that was messing wiht the hurricanes a few years back - perhaps they are fine tuning it?

I dunno... WI is flooding, and a lot of that floodwater is making its way downstream. If you call funkifying weather across two states "fine-tuning"...

Or are you referring to the fact that we're getting prolonged wacky weather, spread over the past month or so, as opposed to a week at most of more intense weather?

Well the machine in question may have been responsible for flooding New Orleans . . . so wonky weather across dozens of states may be the fine tuning process in action.

I see what you're saying... I'm not sure, in all honesty. I'll spend this weekend trying to deal with it as it is, from here... I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Current forecast for the weekend: Rain on Saturday morning, sunny through the rest of the weekend...

Hey, guys, thought I'd just let everyone know that said storms were serious enough to knock power out in Logos' and my area. While the power was out, Logos' basement flooded, we've been working to clean that mess up. She figures that while we're at it, we might as well gut the place. Anyway, there are those that had it worse than she has it, so when we're finished with that project, we're going to go around seeing if anyone wants our help. Needless to say, our presence will be slightly limited for at least a little while more.

Hehe, you scared of a 14 yr. old Mr. Turtle?

Though it might not be a bad idea with all the explosives you keep around.

Actually, while I appreciate the offers for help, there are definitely people who have had worse damages to their houses. Let's allow for your handyman to help those people instead. I've actually mostly finished with my own repairs, all Kor and I really need to do now is start laying tiles down. We've gotten some help from the guys at the station, too. As it turns out, very few of them blame Kor for leaving - They think Kor and I must have the worst luck in the world...

I'm hesitant to tell them about some of the things others here are suffering from - Children with constant seizures, alone with amnesia... We could have it a hell of a lot worse, I know and understand.

I will ask Mr. Frankland if he is willing to donate his time.
If he is I will have him fly down to help with the clean up and repairs.

I'm ready and willing to come up and train your old Dept whenever they are.

Well, don't go too far out of the way. This storm has nothing on what they get on the east coast on a nearly yearly basis, and the places we've visited to help out at have had comparable damages to what my house had, which is to say painful, but not unlivable.

My biggest problem NOW is all these damn mosquitoes!

Bert, the capt. says he's ready when you are, so... an impasse?
