While Katja and I were researching Maria Saratova which she posted about in the War Stories, Katja started telling about the numbers and the coincidences that have been uncovered regarding the life and death of two assassinated US presidents, Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy. Several things are 100 years apart, numbers of letters in names, placement of vowels and consonants. She does not really know anything about the United States and this just causes deeper amazement that far away mysterious place.

The USA had a president die in office (natural causes or not) every 20 years starting with Lincolin and ending with JFK. Reagan almost joined the club when he took a bullet. Bush Jr also survived 9/11 (apparently the White house was a target) and a grenade attack in a former soviet repuiblic (dud).

I am leaning more towards of a we will stop bombing the crap out of your homeland if you return the favour these days. I saw a story the other day that pointed out we are spending $30 Billion over there, but only $6.5 on Katrina efforts?

Expenditure may not be the best determinate of level of effort.
But I am not interested in debating American politics.
