If I understand the article correctly, the JASON group works for the JASON Society and MJ-12 was a part of the society. Something akin to the Society here working somewhat for the Agency.

They are named after the Jason from Jason and the Argonauts.
Personally I will stick with the LAZLO society.

I think he is talking about those godawful Slasher flicks "Friday the Thritneenth" 1 thru whatever.
Never could watch those, annoyed the hell out of me,any time I tried.
