Curse - Fact or Fiction?

Here is an interesting blog that I found that I think would have made Debunker proud. It discusses a rationale explanation for how curses work. I don't know if which way I lean on curses but here is the article and I would be interested to hear what everyone else thinks.

Yeah, D-Bunk would have loved that one.

Wish I knew where he was.

Even if the bad luck, the nasty occurrences, or whatever are self-imposed, they are still real. Many of them can be countered based on the faith or disbelief of the victim; a few cannot. Oftentimes, these things are discounted as "coincidences", but has anyone else noticed that these "coincidences" just happen to start occurring after a curse has been placed?

It's about as much a coincidence as a drunkard hitting back after getting smacked in the face.

I said real.

I know this for a fact.

If I could, there's a few things I wouldn't mind puttin' a hex to . . . but I'd rather just kill 'em and be done with it.

Hey, I haven't seen Debunker here since I got back. Did something bad happen to him?

He's been missing for the better part of a year, if not more.

It's too bad, too... There really is a lot of bunk out there that needs people like him paying attention to it. It's unfortunate that he thought there was no truth to ANY of what we were doing, but people like him are still needed, from time to time...

I mean, I can't exactly find the time to go out and debunk (and verify) things if I'm raising a family and fighting demons all the time. ~.~;

I may not have his knack for it, but I am quite happy to spend my time chasing wild geese, as long as I get some information out of the deal.

Like that dybbuk do not like EMF fields of 7 tesla or higher, pulsed at a 15 Hz frequency. Don't ask me why, I just observed results, and have not been able to replace the subject since.

If you want Dybbuk Kei, than I know where you can find a few.

Unfortunately Debunk would at times debunk what wasn't bunk to begin with.

That was madening.

Hey, he was great for getting into those deep, philosophical discussions. "The reality of the mind" sort of thing. Will kind of scoffed at his theories, though. Hey, you can't make everyone happy.

Yeah, but when he'd tell you to your face that what you just went through wasn't real . . . made a body want to give him some reality upside his head.

True, that part did get irritating real fast... I never had the (dis)pleasure of experiencing that personally to my face, but I can imagine...

Still, the world needs more people who'll point out that not every strange occurrence is happening because of paranormal this or metaphysical that... Sometimes it really is little more than what it seems.

I've had plenty of situations that ended in mundane causes - doesn't mean I don't beleive that there isn't stuff stalking us.

Right...but you're one of the more level-headed people here, Ron. You understand that there are both paranormal and mundane reasons for everything.

There're far too many people in our line of work who believe that everything has to have a paranormal cause...

Would that remark be leveled at anyone in particular?

Not really, no. In part 'cuz most of those I could mention aren't posting a whole lot at the moment, and in another part so that, should most of them come back, I don't have a war on my hands.

You're not on the list, in case you're wondering.

Didn't think I was, but I was wondering who you meant, thou I do have an Idea or two. You are of course right any further comment would only start problems we don't need.

I think part of it is that most of us don't bother to post the events that turn out normally. I know that the larger part of my work is just setting up security systems and taking pictures of morons cheating on their spouses. There is not much excitement in background checks either.

I go out almost every night to hunt . . . I don't mention the drug dealers I punch out or the pimps I kneecap or the lost dogs I take back home because it's not what the page is about.

But sometimes the "Scooby Doo" endings are good for a laugh.

Can't say it's been all that scooby do around here - I find out it was the Boogeyman, or a pedophile - it was a werewolf, or a drug deal gone bad - it was a vampire or a serial killer

Not much comic at al.

Hey, the pedophiles can be pretty funny! Just throw them over the fence into a prison, and watch the hilarity ensue!

There're two things that most convicts can't stand...and that's rapists and child molesters. So, you have to kind of help the comedy along, but it is there!

Now why would I tke them to prison? That means I have to put up with them in the car for hours. It mans I have to wash all that icky stench out of the car. That means I have to touch them.

I let my .40 touch them instead.

There is nothing funny at all about pedophiles, KT, and while I'm all for making light of situations (I have to be, if I want to endure Zack half the time... ), there are some things I think need to be left alone. Pedophiles are some of the worst stock in society, and every time I have to attend a meeting at the station, I look at the pictures of sexual offenders in our neighborhood, and am filled with this deep feeling of disgust... No, anyone who would hurt a child needs to have their eyeballs scooped out and then force-fed to them through the new hole in their chests.

What is it with you folks - dead is dead - plain and simple. No point in trying to over complicate things.

I just don't think that some things should be laughed at. They are sick sons of bitches, who need a good killing. And KT, you ARE right, though, the way the other prisoners receive those sick fucks is justice in itself, and though I can't officially condone your methods, Ron, I sure as hell won't disagree with them.

My mehtod - if you have to kill somebody, kill them. DOn't try to invent new ways for them to die. There's no point. All you are doing is lowerign yourself to evil's level and giving that which you've deecided to destroy a chance to escape.

well, I'm known for exaggerating, Ron, the way I would have to handle it is to make an arrest. That's why I can't OFFICIALLY agree with your methods, but I won't disagree with them, either. Politics, really, personally, I like your method.
