Wow the very interesting story. What kind of the disguise you thinking? Internally the doctors not see anything strange--or not report it. I think that they report such things. Could be the human but developed in the other galaxy or you thinking totally not human with the metamorphic power? Interesting to cut into the metamorph, I think.

Strange, I hope that all it is just what the doctors say. I remember learning about the Blue People when I was going to school, they were something of a state curiosity in West Virgina. If I remember correctly, they had blue pigmentation because of a genetic defect.

Perhaps this is similar.

Inbreeders?

It was a combination of two things. The matriarch of the family had a rare disease that caused the blood to carry less than normal oxygen levels. Because they lived in isolation there was inbreeding that led to most of the family having the same problem.

I read the whole series of books, and loved them all...except the fifth, but that might as well not be included at all.

The fifth book was written only to fuffill contractual obligations, and as you read it... Well, you can tell that not only isn't his heart realy in it, he's doing most of it out of spite.

Sad fact is, I bought the fifth book when it came out, the very day it came out, because of my love of the series. So now I have a hard-cover book that I actualy DON'T like.
