The Trend

I know I’m beating a dead horse but before my unfortunate incident as Greybeard my people where putting together a report on the resent supernatural activity.

There has been an 83% spike in hostile paranormal activities. All signs point to another 7% rise in the next few months. Even creatures that are normally docile if left alone have begun actively hunting.

We have discovered that there are many texts and codex’s that hit at a much larger threat. There were whispers in ancient times about a Dark entity that was for lack of a better word, the father of almost all of the ancient old dark Gods. The lesser dark Gods (Ba’al, Mephetos, Abadon, etc) were his generals. Based on the resent amount of major threats to our world by ancient evils, I fear this ancient being is preparing for his assault on earth.

Lady’s and gentlemen, we have only begun to see the tip of this evil, the very edge of the storm.

I need to know if anyone has ever heard of the beast I’m talking about. Also what should our plan be? We need to get active in finding out what we’re dealing and how to stop it before it’s too late.

Sounds a lot like what I am dealing with, just not on that powerful of a scale.

So I would say we are working on two different things, but they might be connected somehow.

Any grimoires in particular stand out? Natasha has been trying to find out about our situation, reading grimoires and tomes, and it she keeps coming back to Spider Cults.

There is one tome that speaks of spiders and there uses to the ancient God. Spiders were the perfect spy’s for him do to the fact they have many eyes and the ability to sit still with out being noticed for long periods of time. There is no mention of a cult but that’s not to say that none were formed in the last 2,359yrs since the book was written.

Most of Greybeards library was burned in the attack but if I find the book then I’ll do my best to send it to you.

If anyone else has anything to add it would be most helpful. I want this to be a topic that everyone get’s involved in. a lot of us have already suffered greatly because of this…”thing” we need to address this issue immediately.

I have noticed such a trend back home, as well. Several of the lesser known cults that were thought destroyed long ago have been coming out of the woodwork, and from teh dispersion of such events it appears to mee that they either need to trigger an event on every major hotspot at teh same time or they are trying to keep those who are dealing with them personally to busy to deal with the actual threat.

Perhaps if I had more data from other locations to feed into my simulations, I may be able to pinpoint something. As accurate as possible on time, location and event type - but please nothing to incriminating, I don't want to have to make such hard decisions, and if my records were to be subpenaed again I would not want to cause anyone any trouble - the police cannot take what I do not have.

Right now I am planning an operation to destroy a signficant demon, already mentioned.

I got a bunch of littler stuff that I personally am looking at. Vampire up north and that UFO that buzzed your size of this country and (as always) there is some fucker stirring up shit down south.

A source of all evil is the sort of thing I was taught about growing up . . . but I think most of evil is independant and poorly organized.

I'm not saying there isn't a greater evil or that it is stirring or that we shouldn't take it down. I just doubt it's directly responsible for all you think it is.

Actually there are multiple enieties that are very powerful evil, we're talking a scale that makes them almost god like ( not that I would give them that pleasure of being called such) that can be held liable for a great many evils we have seen here on earth. These things can project a portion of them selves to a human host, the most common example of this is the vampire.
A vampiric intelligence can start the plauge of bloodsuckers by convinceing one fool to accept it's gift, then that fool has everything that is them destroyed. Only the intelligences fragment is in the shell, it retains some memories and knowledge but is now a inhuman monster. This intelligence is the key to the vampires on a world, if it could be destroyed all of the spawn from it would cease to function. A very difficult task to accomplish as the intelligence is so much more powerful than almost anything most humans have ever encountered.

Now please rember this information comes from tomes my mentor brought with him from his home diminsion. I do not belive he would have kept these tomes if they were not as accurate as humanly possible. He had mentioned a few times that he had contacted a greater intelligence with a mystic disk, a kind of two way radio to communacate with the infernal creatures we have to be villigent against and he belives the core of these tomes is true. There are cases in his world were a intelligence was destroyed and vampires all over died immediately.

Take this as you will I have not verified any of it personally yet, but I trust my mentor's opinion to the fullest.

Don't be so quick to discount evil Ron. Especially immortal evil.

I think Ron has a good point. We shouldn’t get all worked up quite yet. We need to gather more information about this Evil before we “mount up” and go try and kill it. Other wise we will all have to concur with Tony’s opinion of us being gun crazy, psychopaths.

I have found a few of my note book that I had in my cabin and was able to find what they used to call this thing; “The Lord of the Fathoms” is what the ancient Greeks called it. I believe they used the word “fathoms” in place of the word “depths” as most of his followers worshiped him around the sea. They would sacrifice there prisoners to the beast and in hard time they would sacrifice young, beautiful women. There is no accurate description of what this beast looked like or where it dwelled, only that it was the “Beast of all beasts.”” The Evil of all Evils.”

If anyone knows anything about this legend please feel free to share.

I'm not saying there aren't greater evils . . . I just doubt there is one, unified source of all evil.

I may be away for awhile. Greybeard has just received a new headcounters location and a few new recruits. Time to go to school and teach the new generation of psi spy’s.

I’ve also found references in one of my books about a temple in South America (my favorite stomping grounds) that may hold more then information on the “Lord of Fathoms”. I’ll be going to investigate after I train my men, so I’ll be away for a bit. If anyone need’s anything please send the information to this account. Agent Godhand will be checking it regurly.

Fate I had some people checking some info for me recently on this subject. They have found a few intresting things so far, one is a possible variation on the name, I think you may have already mentioned it But it is "Lord of the Deep" does this fallow your info as well?

Mr. Fate, you will recieve some files soon pertaining to this subjecy matter.

As a matter of fact Shadow it does. The “Lord of the Deep” appears in more modern text (within the last 200yrs) the name was used during a revival of worship in the “Lord of the Fathom/Deep.” I am still investigating the source of the revival.

Voice, I know I should turn down your help, but I’ve had dealings with things far worse then you. Send the files but don’t read in-between the lines on this. This is just what it is, a business deal, nothing more.

"And in his lair he lie, and as eons pass, even death may die."

If Carter is right on this one I am never going to hear the end of it.

Does the name Chuthulu ring a bell? The Lost City of Rhadia?

Perhaps - but I wonder if folks are over hyping this monster.

Oh and fate, deals with the devil are a fast way to becoming it's pawn.

Carter has been in Europe trcking down leads. Once he saw this thread he e-mailed me to quick about a small village in southern Spain along the coast called Borca and some story that is similar to the one posted here.

Apparently before Victor Lazlo there was H.P. Lovecraft who wasin fact one of the world's first and foremost investigators into the occult and the supernatural.

I am really hoping you are wrong on this one Carter.

I think you guys are going over the top here. The nasty stuff we face is too random and chaotic and working at cross purposes for just one force to be behind it all.

There may be a big bad out there . . . it may even be related to The Bloop . . . but a source of all evil, no.

Just to let everyone know Fate has gone to train the FNG’s and then he’s off to South America (FYI I think he has a girlfriend down there or something.). This is Godhand and you don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to post here, so…Hello everyone! I’ve been watching some of you so long I practically feel like family. I’ll be relaying all the information you guys post here to him and also have full authority to assist anyone when and where they need it, so don’t be shy.
