Guardsmen Sense Ghostly Presence In New Orleans

CBS5 wrote:The presence of the supernatural and the influence of voodoo long have been synonymous with New Orleans.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, members of the U.S. military are saying that there's something spooky going on and it's not just images of death and destruction that's haunting them.

By all accounts, the Sophie B. Wright Middle School in New Orleans sits empty and evacuated except for military personnel who have taken over the campus as a staging site for missions around the battered city.

But the men in uniform have the feeling that they're not alone. It prompted a chaplain to utter this directive: "In the name of Jesus Chris, I command you Satan to leave the dark areas of this building."

Said Sgt. Robin Hairston of the California National Guard: "I was in my sleeping bag and I opened by eyes and in the doorway was a little girl. It wasn't my imagination."

Hairston wasn't the only one seeing things. Spc. Rosales Leanor had her own close encounter.

"I was using the restroom and I just saw a little shadow," Leanor said. "Kind of looming in front of me."

Another member of the Guard unit said that she saw and heard a little girl laughing when she opened a closet that contained cleaning supplies.

At a Baton Rouge marina, boats were strewn like trash, but not a shred of paper could be found. Except for the pages of a Bible that was found by a soldier. It was open to the Book of Revelation.

At a nearby church, nearly destroyed, another Bible was found, showing the exact same passage from Revelation.

Like the power of nature, there is a power at work in New Orleans that defies explanation.

I'm not surprised. I've heard for years that New Orleans is a target rich environment for the supernatural. My question is how much f what's moving in now should we be getting to move back out?

Every city has its haunted locales and legends. On the same level, you could take a look at the estimated body count shortly after the disaster; "thousands", the media kept saying. Afterward, the official deathtoll topped only a few hundred, but the "missing" list is a rather long one.

I had a filling that evil spirits had risen up the New Orleans, the whole thing was so horrible, the government looking so unprepared over something that was predicted by experts. Leating the people go mad and in hords brake gods commandments, giving fuel to the evil things making them more real. It would be wise to have priests go there and bless the place. If this is not done the evil may remain.

No worries this and other situations are being or have been taken care of .Ghosts and Haunting entitys were the least of the problems that are going on in the region.

Shadowstalker is completly in the right here, there are serious troubles down in New Orleans right now, and there is no place for coming up with more boogeyman and ghosts stories to add to the load. And dont even get me started on the ridiculous notion of voodoo and its silly horror stories.

Uh thanks Debunker my team and I have been assisting on the clean up and S&R efforts and it has been a nasty kind of crazy there,But we have also been dealing with things of a less well mundane nature. Ok before Debunker starts going off about how I am being deluded and such first off better than half the things we looked into were just someone letting their imageination get the better of them , it's not hard take into acount the enviroment the situation and the stress levels alot of the personel are under . There are however things that are not so readily writen off and we had to deal with those as well as everything else ,trust me not everything is a silly horror story and there are more than enuogh to go around both the mundane and the strange .

It's my understanding that major events in this world are supposed to have a sort of shadow effect on the other side. According to many accounts, ghosts can be stirred up by something as mundane as renovating a house. If that is the case, then imagine what tearing up a whole city can do.

Haha!

I know of a couple of guys who, I'm sure, must spend their weekends yelling into ravines so they can just hear their voice over an over again.

Probably not. Just a couple of loud fuckers who are totally enamored with the sound of their own voice.

Sasha says Japan has some nice caves, "but sadly never been in one myself".

I not mind mud, but it is endless and everywhere down there. Sasha says it is not too bad. He and Kolya once could not climb a 1m tall mud hill. The ceiling was too low to stand, so they must crawl. Just nowhere to get traction. It took them almost a minute. I wish I could see it.. :)

Honestly though I cannot wait to return.
