Dilemma

I have a dilemma. Iv had a vision about what the future might hold. Their are possibilities that this thing can be stopped but is it right of me to woren the world of the Ways and Means of evil people possessed by spirits of the damed. Just knowing about it is bad enough. Do I keep it to myself or leat the world known. This thing would be worse than any in history. Being a seer is a curse because you never know if you cosed It by uttering it. As we've learned even if the whole world knew was coming there is no guarantee they be
able to stop it. I'd appreciate any input. :?:

All that it takes for evil to flourish, is for good people to do nothing - Somebody said that. =P

There's no better place than here to spread word of impending doom. The cops aren't gonna believe you. Throwing in with those of us here who understand where your insight is coming from would be the way to go. Those of us in a position to help, will. It's why we're here. None of us want to face the future alone. We couldn't survive that way. Especially you Seer types.

My advice, surround yourself with powerful friends, direct them as you would a weapon. Most of us want to fight the good fight, so speak up. We're here to help.

Several possessing entities have figured out a way to bring great death to the world. their plan is to send a rocket from the Earth to the sun. It has a specially designed capsule that when mixed with the fusion of the sun will produce a gamma ray pulse for about 30 seconds. This pulse directed at the Earth will be devastating to anyone exposed. This thing must be stopped. These monsters Idea of population control is wrong. Be ever vigilant for the paranormal and technology is not necessarily separate.

I'll keep my eyes and ears open. I have numerous military contacts that can help me monitor this situation. They may be able to stop this rocket in flight if necessary. Thanks for the warning.

as much as it pains me to do this, but i find myself in the role of a debunker.

first, why is this "precognitive dream" so detailed? i myself have a little of the talent of perceiving the future, and i know many people who have a much greater talent, and their premonitions are mostly detailess, emotions and occasional flashes of images that give one knowledge that something is going to happen, but rarely exactly what.

second, the earths atmosphere and magnetosphere sheilds earth from most gamma rays, X-rays, and other high energy radiation. in addition, it takes huge amounts of this type of radiation to cause death. great illness, perhaps, but death reqires a huge short term burst. living things are far more hardy than people give them credit for.

third, "special designed capsule" that will mix with the fusion of the sun? what is this, unobtainium? Fusion occurs in the suns core, and even the edge of the sun, the photosphere, is thousandss of degree's celsius. this is hundreds of times hotter than the melting point of even the toughest ceramics we can produce. the core is Millions of degree's, so hot that the gases have become plasma.

fourth, it took a rocket the size of the empire state building to send 3 men in a lightweight capsule to the moon. to send something to the sun, one would need either a very powerful rocket, or send it on a multi-year mission using the gravity of earth, mars, and venus to accellerate it to speed.

so we have plenty of time.

while i will not say it is impossible, i do state it is improbable. it is possible you have confused your portents for something far more fantastic than it predicted.

i would however, be on the watch for solar flare activity, which often tend to occur at times of high magic, and it is possible that groups unknown could use such an event for their own purposes.

I just had the vision. I've been wrong before I like to be wrong this time. I just thought people should know.

There is no shame in being a voice of reason Mr. E, in fact it's an honor on this Society as the majority of the members here are completly illogical and unreasonable.

Hold your head high when you point out the obvious truth sir, you owe it to yourself.

Well with this I'd rather be accused of having an overactive imagination that a lack of one.

If it is absolutely necessary I can stop the rocket, if it does exist, while it is flight. I would, however, prefer for it to be dealt with by you as doing it myself would cause problems for me and drain my resources significantly.

Well I've informed the right people of this possibility. I shouldn't be a problem if you're right. If you're wrong... well they're watching the skies anyway.

I suppose I am lowering myself to your level by this reply, especially since this isn't my first post in answer to Devil, but I feel it ought to be said:

I don't think you've had enough problems. Certainly, firepower has its place. But so does detective work, patience, and restraint. If you gun down every shadow that looks suspicious, you will eventually hit an innocent. Be cautious.

Because some of the Evil out there have no shadows.

Thats why I perfer to use a knife, for that up close and personal feel. Also, gives me ample time to figure out 'hey, maybe I shouldn't kill this person'. Yeah, yeah, suppossedly won't work on the supernatural creepy crawlies. Then again maybe it would. I personally don't want to find out either way.

Yeah, and if you hold your fire too long, you'll eventually notice that some of those innocents arent so innocent after all. Learned that lesson the hard way in fallujah I did, and I'd thank you not to be so condescending in our future encounters should they occur. You have your style, I have mine and only arrogance would allow you to believe that your solution to a problem is the only right one.

As I presumed you felt by your “ammunition solves all problems” remark. Certainly, once the demon has been unmasked, blast away with everything you have. I never meant to imply my way was the only right way, and I would thank you to not take my words out of context.
But peace; I should take my own counsel, for I suppose our experiences had us thinking of different scenarios. Caution had no place when the shadow beast was clearly lunging for my throat. I believe you have the sense to hold fire until you have hunted the demon to its lair, Devil. Only after the thing is cornered would you pull the trigger.
Am I too far off in my suppositions? We shall see.

As for future encounters, I would not say no to an ally to work with on occasion, if such was your meaning. Working alone has its disadvantages. I can only do so much by myself, and I cannot move in daylight. But in the night, my prey knows no safety.

Has anyone found out anything else about this rocket?

An interesting possibility, but highly impractical. If you are interested in stopping such an event, forget trying to stop the rocket, it is largely irrelevant, and by it's self would only produce a timeframe with more frequent and more brilliant aurora at the poles. The magnetosphere and ionosphere are VERY efficient blockers of gamma radiation, not to mention the dampening effects of the atmosphere. If someone were to, however, find a way to open a hole in the magnetosphere (most likely to be accomplished through manipulation of Ionosphere energy levels), then a gamma burst from the sun would be harmfull if not fatal to those in the exposed area.

Glad to hear from you, Kei . . .

Hopefully, it was stopped already . . . but I am glad you dropped by, Kei. How is the dream job?
