Greetings everyone. I'm the new guy to the boards, though I have spent a couple of days browsing through, learning the ropes.

I offer any information I can scrounge up on the supernatural, parapsychological, and just plain weird events that are reported in my neck of the woods. In return, I express an interest in any information pertaining to the occult and, I dare say, arcane matters from around the world, especially if it pertains to any major or minor religious factions.

Welcome to the boards.

I have stories to tell from here in Russia. I just have to figure out what I can and cannot say without endangering anyone - myself included.

I welcome you to the Society, but I humbly request you try not to encourage the outlandish writings that go on here. The way people tell it there is a chicken in every pot, but a monster under every bed. Keep your wits about you sir and don't fall prey to supernatural hogwash you read when you visit.

Heretic, your arrival to the boards coincides with a nascent interest in cults. It all began after my trip to the States. I am including a translation of an email a collegue sent me.

It took some research, but I narrowed down a mass suicide/murder uncovered in a St. Petersburg suburb to a possible connection with the Order of the Solar Temple, a cult based on the continuing existance of the Knights Templar. This "order" got its start in the early 1980s in Geneva. The idea was basically that the leadership were reincarnated Knights Templar. Although the Solar Temple may actually have its roots in the post World War II era - when neo Knights Templar cults were en vogue throughout Europe.

The event was discovered by fire fighters responding to a fire. What this cult has done in the past is kill themselves and their fellows in mass suicides/murders and remote devices set the building on fire as a final purging. Items found at the scene, including letters written by the members, resemble the items found at other scenes of Solar Temple mass suicides/murders.

They believe that they are going to the star Sirius, and after they go the Earth will be destroyed.

I remain unsure if this cult is actually connected with the Solar Temple, which is thought to still exist in very small numbers in Quebec. The trail is pretty faint and difficult to follow. There simply is not a lot of information available. Cults seem to not come up with very original ideas so the connection could be coincidence, copycat, or real. My investigation has left me with a pretty big question mark.

So the cult has done this sort of thing before? Now that's quite odd, really. You'd think after the first time of killing off all their worshipers and then burning down the evidence, it'd be a might difficult to pass on "the ways of the cloth." Leaves one to wonder what kind of influence can recreate the cult.

I know about the Knights Templar, but this "Solar Temple" is a new one to me.

Xerxes warned us of a cult to Orlock a month ago, headed by Larry Stetson, and Watcher knows the man as Joseph Micheals.

Word on the streets of Chi-town is the Demon Fist gang is run by a "Satanic Voodoo cult", but if I had a dime for every time people have blamed Satan or Voodoo for weird happenings...
