I'm sure we're all familiar with board member, Cybermancer. An academically intelligent and highly educated man who uses his curiousity to study the supernatural and his knowledge to combat it when required.
Those of us who have worked with him (and his predecessor) know that he likes to plan ahead. Given his penchant for cutting edge technology, gadgets and the armor that is his pet project, one might want to compare him to a well known fictional crusader, less a cape of course.
However, there is another, MUCH more suitable hero to whom he may be compared and yes, may even have drawn some inspiration from. In fact, they even share the same name! Given that I know him to be a comic book fan and collector, one must wonder if the name was the inspiration for his own nom de garre here at Lazlo! There even seem to be certain parrallels!
How long before he unveils his shiny new, pink armor?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Knight.
An interesting fact about this date. In 585 BCE, there was a solar eclipse that was predicted by the Greek scientist and philosopher Thales. This occurred while Alyattes was battling Cyaxares in what would become known as the battle of the eclipse. Of interest to historians, is that this is a cardinal date, from which other dates can be calculated.

Happy Birthday Cybermancer!
I hope you liked the present I left for you.
You didn't open it early, did you?

Thank you ever so much Darcy, for taking the time to do some research in order to tweak my nose today. I appreciate the effort.
Thank you also to Mel, Robyn and Cynthia (and if I don't get to it later, anyone who posts after this message.) for the well wishes.
And no Cynthia, I didn't open you present early. Having opened it this morning, I can tell that you have inherited your Mama's sense of humor. I am now the proud owner of every comic that Cybermancer the Marvel character has appeared in. Thank you very much.
Hannah, I think I may quit work early today. It is my birthday, after all.
I think that since I am new here, having taken over this account from another individual, I will take this opportunity to tell you all a little bit about myself and some of my family history. I do this partly to establish my own identity here on this forum. I also do it in the interest of 'opening up' a bit more to my fellow community members.
On my father's side, I am related to Joseph Knight Sr. My family immigrated from Utah to Alberta. Then my grandparents broke away from the LDS church and moved east to Ontario. My father Jonothan attended school in New York where he would meet both my mother and my god-father.
On my mother's side, there is something of an interesting tradition. The first daughter born is always named for a ruler. For example, my mother was named for Catherine the Great while my sister is named for Queen Christina of Sweden. This eldest daughter than inherets the task of carrying on and keeping track of a matriarchal geneology.
This geneology indicates that I have ancestors that arrived in New England as far back as the Pilgrims. There are authentic records that go right back to England going back hundreds of years. Actually there are records going back much, much farther than that. However they can only be authenticated back as far as 1500 or so. Most of these records are transcripts (including transcripts of previous transcripts) of previous records that deteroiated with time and thus must be suspect.
Regardless, there are some interesting connections and family legends related to this geneology. For example, my mother was descended from Mary Walcott. Allegedly there is a special power that is passed down to the women of my family. Certainly my sister shows it in spades and our grandmother was instituitionalized due to visions only she could see. Oddly, neither my mother nor my neice show any sign of special paranormal power. Christina says that while she doesn't know what the situation was with mother, her daughter appears to be completely closed off from the supernatural world. Almost as though it actively avoids her.
My neice Victoria, has shown interest in carrying on this tradition, with a slight twist. Despite being barely twelve, she has declared that she will keep the name Knight when she marries and will encourage her daughters to do likewise. Time will tell whether her determination holds.
I have three siblings. Brian and Christina who are fraternal twins and were born two years before me. I also have a younger brother, Alex, who was born about a year after me. We're all very close and have been involved in the supernatural to some degree or another for the greater portion of our lives.
This site came to my attention in the early fall of last year, which is also the time I met Darcy through Mr. Blue. I actively started posting here late December of last year and haven't regretted it yet. Hopefully I'll be more involved in the paranormal investigations that this site promotes than my predecessor was.
Have a good day, everyone.

Cool. You have the same birthday as my bro and I. We should totally have a party.
Also, I've noticed a lot of Gemini's on this site.
