I shan't speak for everyone here, but it sounds like a spook or something...that the house reaks of very bad vibrations or something. What do the rest of blokes think?

Well, I'm not to good with things I can't touch or see, but I remember one time I had to take down A guy who beleived he was the second comming of some medieval eastern european tyrant or something.
Anyway, the guy was human, but he seemed to do stuff that just boggled the mind. Like leaping to the roof of a three story building from a standing start, that sort of deal.
Fortunately, for all his power and ruthlessness . . . he wasn't to bright. I ended up handing him a Flash-Bang during a tense momment involving a hostage. When it went off, he and the hostage got seperated, and while he was disoritented I took him down Nigerian Style.
After he was down, I had an overwhelming urge to search him, which wasn't like me. I tend to make sure they are dead, clean up my evidence and leave. But for some reason I went through his pockets and found a finger bone.
As soon as I touched the bone, I had this urge to put it in my own pocket and keep it with me.
I fought off the urge because I knew somethign was wrong and, with great effort, I dropped the bown and ground it to dust with my boot heel.
Some glowing thing came out of the bone, whipped arround me a few tiems then disappeared.
Not sure how this relates, but if a thing that can influence people's minds can live in an old bone, ya wonder what sort of thing could live inside a house.

Huh...well, I'll see about checking out the family and seeing if I can find anything out, but the people at this clinic sound like their pros and it looks like they really did help, in which case they might be good allies.
As to what it might be that is causing this stuff...your guess is as good as mine. it could be some sort of vindictive spirit but I don't know enough to make an acurate guess.
And Ron, I have encountered something like your bone...Though my own experience was a bit nastier. It started with a series of rather gruesome murders in which the victims (all of them women and children) were butchered like animals (somewhat like ol' Jack the Ripper). I managed to track the culprit down and killed him as he was preparing to claim his next victim, and then had to make myself scarce when the cops arrived. I thought that it was over, when the murders started again. again I set about tracking the murderer down, this time I had a little more time after the fight was over and I felt the same urges you were talking about, Ron. but it was a bit easier for me because I were several charms and amulets of protection at all times...I checked things out with some spells that I knew and I found out that the urges seemed to emminate from a rather unpleasant knife that the man was carrying. in the end I decided that I didn't know enough to try and screw around with it and I took it to a local priest that I knew at the time and he exorcised it, we ended up with the same result you did, what with the glowing thing, except that instead of just disappearing it started screaming and began to fizzle out...I think that this may have had to do with the fact that Father Kincaid is a man of exceptional faith and the fact that the exorcism took place in a church.

Yeah, there are a lot of skills and tricks I wish I had in my arsenal . . . but I gotta do things my way, because it's the only way I know how.

I can understand that...and I'm sure that there are quite a few things out there that your pretty damn good at.

Syphon Entity sounds pretty close to what you are describing. We tend to keep those under lock and key.

How do you lock one of those up anyway?

Very carefully, with a specialy crafted prison. If you dont bind the thing into the object it will depart when it has no access to fresh victims (only to inhabit another object).
If you have need of such prisons, I can try to explain the technical details. (probably not a lot of help because I merely accept that what I was shown and tought "just works")

I believe another way, if you have the ability to fight on a psychic level is to destroy the object it inhabits and destroy it psychically as it flees the area. But this of course runs the risk of letting it flee.
However, I have never tried putting this into practice as I have not ever met a entity like this.

A good way to prevent it from fleeing is to put a bubble of chi or energy around it, comprized of mental/spiritual energy, and if you can manifest it, physical/kinetic energy. Then from there shrink the bubble until it rests in your hands. Then from there, the thing is usually at your mercy. Usually. Not always.

Uhhh.. okay, i guess.
... You know, I didn't even realize the paralells between my S.O.P. for getting rid of annoying entities and the Ghostbuster team.
Kinda funny actually, but I do mine with a little more finnesse and nowhere near the collateral damage.

haha awesome.
Winston: Now, are we actually gonna go before a federal judge, and tell him that some moldy Babylonian God is going to drop in on Central Park West, and start tearing up the city?
Dr. Spengler: Sumerian, not Babylonian.
Dr. Venkman: Yeah. Big difference.
Winston: No offense, guys, but I've gotta get my own lawyer.

Peter: "Go get her Ray!"
Ray: "As the duely appointed representative of the City, County, and State of New York, I have to ask you to return to your dimension of origin or the closest convenient parallel dimension."
Peter: "Thanks Ray, that oughtta do it."

Ugh . . . that movie set back our cause at least a decade . . .
So what can someone who doesn't have all that chi/energy/psychic goodness to work with do?

well... I guess hope and pray? nah... lol. I would say if you can bring a small EM field generator that might either push it out or trap it.
You might also use a crystal bowl. (Larger the better) Fill its bottom with some water, only an inch or two, then rub the rim to get it to resonating. When you can produce what sort of looks like a radiation symbol in the water (three sets of waves), and its producing a clear resonant tone, the area you are in should be protected for a while.
The crystal resonates both sound and energy, and with it doing so on a resonant cord of energy and sound, everything else in the area that is non-physical has to match that resonance. Usually it either erases the intrusion or it will force it to flee the area, as it would be very uncomfortable. Also, listening to the resonance for a perioud of anywhere from a few seconds to hours can put a person in a trance-state. Not a really heavy one, but it can act as a mind blank to shield them mentally. It can also help speed healing or improve sleep quality, as some of the larger bowls can resonate for hours after you stop rubbing.
One might also try to use differing amounts of water to produce different tones/frequencies/sounds. Different frequencies of energy have differing effects on the body, many benificial, but some can be used as a weapon, though I don't remember which frequency ranges work for the latter. I'd have to do some looking again.

So crystal bowls and water huh?

At this point, I'm willing to entertain the notion of anything.

Oh yeah, I would like to add that water is a representation of purity, and is also one of the main elements of life. This is one of the reasons why it is effective against vampires. But then again, anyone can figure that symbology out.
In conjunction with the crystal resonating the water also vibrates, putting its own energy into the crystal. This may also in part be the reson for its purging effect.
anyway, I know that to some of the mundanes here, (and I mean that in the best of ways, considering I sitll use a lot of the same methods) it seems highly dubious, but I have a friend who swears by them, and I have conducted my own experiments. I -do- know about the trance-state effect, but the others I'm not so sure about, as far as the relationship.

Trial and error is a part of this buisness . . . but I'd rather not risk the error when I don't have to.

What about napalm? Just curious...
