Prophecies and Portents

I come to you now as a prophet and herald of things to come.

The future is in flux and much is uncertain. Things foretold will not come to pass as new threads are introduced into the tapestry. Even now, outside forces work to interfere.

Of those things that I have seen, some will come to pass and others only may come to be.

Even I have not been given to understand what I have seen with fullness.

The first of my visions I share with you as a warning.

An outsider walks among you.
He has also walked in Hades.
He has watched the game for years.
Only now does he begin to play.

The three sisters hate him.
For the power has been given unto him,
To reweave their tapestry,
Unto his own designs.

Do not doubt his power.
Nor his willingness to wield it.
He has shattered a world.
To destroy a mirror.

The power is granted to him,
To hunt one among your number.
Some of you will side with the killer.
Some of you will side with the champion.

Know that he is vulnerable on your world.
Isolated from the full weight of his power.
But to put a stop to him.
He must be killed.
For his patience is great,
And his time limitless.

I can not directly intercede in this matter.
My oath prevents me from acting,
Against all who have opposed the minions.

My next vision is veiled in it’s full meaning, even to myself.

I have seen a great chess board of gold and silver. There are many players and many more pieces. While the sides are black and white in my view, there are colors and shades that suggest shifting allegiances and loyalties.

I see a black pawn who will be made a black queen. She will seek to slay four black pawns that were once a conspiracy of twelve. The first of twelve to fall was the only white piece. Three of the four who remain will fall. The last may yet be saved.

If the last pawn is not saved then the White Knight will begin to hunt the Black queen. He is a Knight for he moves in unconventional ways. As he moves across the board, he will not take out any other pieces, even when they oppose his pursuit of the Black Queen. Both black and white pieces may rise up before him.

If the White Knight takes the Black Queen, then she will be removed from the game for a time. When a white pawn is taken, she will re-enter play as a White Queen. The power will be given her to take a White King, taking both pieces from the board.

Right now the black pawn is motionless on the board and stands beside a white pawn. Both have the power to become queens. I see that they are caught between three kings.

One of white.

One of black.

One of red.

How the other pieces choose to move shall effect the outcome of the game.

Finally I have seen two pools. One of white and one of black. The one of white has been discoloured, become red as blood.

They swirl together and become one. For a moment they form the yin-yang symbol but with black and red. And then they are both gone.

These things will begin to come to pass over the next year although I do not know how long they will take to reach their completion.

Your community will face turmoil and choices. Some of you may find yourselves staring across a gulf at faces that were once friends but are now enemies. There will be unrest and confusion. Be sure that you choose wisely when the time comes.

There is one more thing. It is quite uncertain but will not occur until all of the above has been resolved. It may still not occur even then.

A man will come unto you.
And you will know him as a prophet.
But he is false.
His mind is broken.
He has stolen another’s face.
What would he do?
He would divide you
.

Red King?

Where have I heard that before?

Could you please ask your visions to clarify themselves. This cryptic shit really annoys me.

Prophets - they can never give a straight answer.

I am sorry, Ghostspider. I have related them as clearly as I am able at this time. I do not tell them anything. They tell me... and only at their chosing. The three sisters are twisted in that way.

The future is... Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.

More so now than ever before, I fear.

That is why prophets can never give a straight answer. It is not because we don't try. It is because it is not possible.

We have visions. The visions are made up of symbols. Some are immediately obvious. Most are vague.

The three sisters...? The Norns of old Norse mythology?

Why do I see references here on this site where you claim to side with angels, and cite Biblical references, but here, you talk of prophecies being dealt out by Wyrd?

Just want to point out a few things here.

1. The three sisters is a much older reference than Norse Mythology. They find their origins in Celtic traditions. See also the Morrigan. See also the greek fates.

2. The Judeo-Christian and Islamic faiths are not the sole proprietors of angelic mythology. See also nearly every other western and some eastern faiths.

3. Citing biblical references is not the same as biblical allegiances. See also TV evangelists.

1. Yes, but the Norse is the most recent that I'm aware of...

2. Fully understood and aware, but he cited Biblical references, implying JCI alliances.

3. That only proves my point even more.

With regards to your point two, refer to your point one.

With regards to point three, it was a clarification, not a disagreement.

And then there was one.

Once upon a time, there was a prince. He was young and unmarried so his parents sent him abroad to find himself a suitable wife.

In his travels, he found a fox that was caught in a hunters snare. And the fox called out to the young prince, “please, won’t you set me free? For surely I will die in captivity!”

The fox had a beautiful red coat and emerald green eyes. And of course it had the ability to speak!

So the young prince got off his horse and he freed the fox.

Once freed, the fox assumed the form of a beautiful young woman, “Young Prince, you have helped me and now I shall grant you three wishes. You can have them all but if you ask for the third one, something you love will be lost.”

“I should like to be a hero,” the young prince said with a smile. “Like those I have been told about in the old stories.

“You are already my hero, young prince.” The young faerie woman smiled. “But I shall grant you the prowess you desire as my gift to you.”

She blessed him with the power of her kind.

“Will you marry me?” He asked her.

“Is that one of your wishes?” she asked coyly.

“I wish it but it is not one of my wishes. I ask you for I smitten by your beauty. I wish to have you as my wife for loves sake and because you return that love.”

The faerie lady smiled at her hero. “I do love you. You freed me and now when you ask me to tie my hand to yours, you do not force it though you could. I will marry you.”

“I wish that we shall have a healthy son!” The man declared.

With smile, the Faerie lady said, “it shall be so.”

“I wish that all my descendents will have this gift that you granted me.” He wished a third time, unthinking of the number.

“It shall be as you wish.” The Faerie woman said with a small smile of regret.

The two were taken back to the young princes parents and there, wed. A year later, a healthy baby boy was born to the couple.

But the woman seemed to be failing fast. She asked for her husband and sent all others away. “All your wishes have been granted, my lord but now I must depart. For you made all three wishes and must now lose that you most love.”

“No!” He protested. “There must be another way.”

“You would risk a curse?” She asked dismayed.

“Yes! I will not lose you!”

Again she sighed, “the blood line you have established here will bring forth many heroes. The gift given is not easily taken back. But when there have been three villains straight in a row, each generation after the next, the gift will be rescinded. The power will be gone from your line. What’s more, your line will end though other, lesser lines may continue past the legacy your loins has produced. And still, the price must be paid, despite your defiance.”

With a heavy, trembling sigh, she died.

There have been villians three as predicted. The first two are gone and only one is left. But even now, the line is ended.

The Black King is removed from play.

The White Pawn has been made a White Queen.

She seeks the Red King.

Red King? I hope this ain't who (or what) I think this is. I hope you are wrong about this if it is.

Cessiel - I have to agree with my father about the problems trying to figure out what you are saying about our visions. Still, there may be somethign useful.

I'm taking a few guesses about what some things mean - but I am curious about one thing. You talked about the moves of the white pawn and the black pawn affecting the whole game - then you said the white pawn became a white queen and is going after the red king.

How does that change the game?

Choose carefully.

Kings are always vulnerable to Queens but only rarely to pawns.

But Queens also must face choices and for the White queen there are possibilities three. One choice will reveal the Red King. There is only a pawn for the second choice. The last choice will lead to the Black Knight and his squire.

Had me for a moment, then the road went left and I saw something shiney on the right.

I'd rather have a white knight.

No version of chess I have ever played included 'squires'.

Dream imagery is always so confusing when people try to describe it.

Oh, and did anyone know that the generic black knight is often associated with death? What do you suppose Death's Squire would be like?

Another interesting historical note on 'Black Knights'. They were occasionally knights or soldiers without a liege lord. Freelance warriors who would often hire themselves out as mercenaries.

Cessiel, if I ever find you, I swear to god, I will cut out your heart and feed it to you.

Why not post a f.. nurglefrigiting advert in the paper, "Khavik, They're coming for you!" Or maybe buy neon signs all over DC?

We still haven't heard from the Penthouse team and Hannah had to be sedated after she double tapped Ron in the chest.

Heaven save us from our 'friends'.

What's in a name?

Holister,

First of all, I have some serious doubts that you have any idea about what any woman would love.

Second, charming as always.

Third, and I only ask this because you've stumped all of us. What is up with ragging on my name being 'Darcy'? Seriously, we don't get it and were kinda hoping you might fill us in on the joke. Because right now, you sort look like you're pointing at a guy named bob and laughing, "Ha ha! Your name is Bob!" I'm sure this is all very funny to you, we just want in on the joke... Benji. :P

Doctor Boggs,

Or should I call you Sugar Daddy?

You haven't heard the last from me. Not by a long shot. 8)

Cessiel, next time you feel like helping... don't. That goes for speaking as well.

I'm not upset. I just didn't get it.

Most of us in the business have ordinary sounding names. I think I was named Darcy because it's a unisex (or would that be bisexual?) name.

Prophecies only have power if you allow them to have power. If one’s will is powerful enough they can overcome prophecy no matter who written them.

Thats always been my opinion on the matter. Why give us lil' mortals free will if we already have our cards punched. The whole destiny thing never really held any water with me because of that.
