Something odd at Central High

My temple got permission from the principal, Mr. Adell, to put on a demonstration at his high school. While we were getting set up in the gym, nature called, so I excused myself. Inside the boys' bathroom, I noticed some unusual grafitti, "Surrender to Death and live forever."

I washed up and went out into the hall. It was flooded with students changing classrooms. Dozens of conversations faded in and out as I made my way to the gym. One voice jumped out at me as I pushed on the door, "Death isn't so bad -- after you get to know her."

I looked around, but couldn't tell who'd said it. Back in the gym, Rio told me we didn't bring enough mats, but the school had several they'd let us borrow. We went to the storeroom to get them. Beside them were a number of tents, each with "Memtar Funeral Home" stenciled on the side....

Death can’t be all bad, can she? Or is it a him?

_____That’s . . . strange. But I think the person must be right. After all, Hannah and Eilonwy talked with her. And they’re very nice people. But . . . wasn’t Ankou a boy, Hannah?
_____P.S. Maybe there is more than one Death out here?

This is disturbing, real disturbing.

I got an e-mail from Ed the other day, said some of his contacts in the states have been noticing a surge in death cult activity. Not sure if it is realted, but it sure freaks the hell out of me.

Yeah.

Death isn't something to fear, but it isn't healthy to dwell on it. It's better to be where you are.

I am Death to those that oppose my goals.

What are you to common people?

Not many death avatars are female
because of women's inherent life creating and sustaining abilities.
The only one I've met called herself Kali.

That all depends on what uses they have.

Kali is one mean bitch.

Anything new on this “comfort with death,” Sifu?

Is there anything new with this “comfort with death” graffiti, Sifu Willie? It reminds me uncommonly of vampires . . . but they can’t be blamed for everything.

Luckily I have exterminated all vampires in my area of influence.

Now if only Ron could do the same with the werebeasts . . .

Now if only Ron could do the same with the werebeasts that plague the Blight . . . it’s a neverending battle. And yet the storm approaches ever closer . . . sorry. I’ll just wait for Sifu to reply.

I have been somewhat successful in hunting Werebeasts. So if assistance is required. It could be arranged.

Lord Shakar are you the ruler of an astral domain or just a traveler of that plane?

I rule a domain. Though it is surprising to find one that knows enough of the Plane to actually know of such things.

Of course, you’re better known in the Plane . . .

Of course, you’re better known in the Plane, Lord Shakar . . . though Alpha does seem to have a better grasp of them than many.

Tis a price for being too active one place and not active enough on this realm. Though I seek to fix that because recent events on this realm have spilled over and interfered with a few things of mine going on.

Are you a true astral lord or did you conquer a domain built by another?

Of what are we speaking about?

I have heard some tantalizing tidbits of this "astral" plane, but the information my organization has on it is woefully lacking.

What is with the curiousity about how I came into my Powers? Normally I don't deign to answer such things and let my power speak for itself. I was born to my ability and My domain is my creation.

I can understand your reluctance to reveal too much about yourself to me and I don't mean to pry, I am a demon afterall. I can assure you that I've been working for the forces of good since I was quelled by Raven but why would you trust me? I am only curious and besides you've left enough hints in your posts that even a blind woman could see what you are, no offense Wie. You would make a powerfull ally and formidable foe.

No offense taken.

None taken, Alpha.

You being on the side of "good" doesn't make me trust you any more than I trust any demon that I have worked with before. I myself am not "good" I do what I do because I must. Not because of any high and mighty Ideals.

Khavik, and others who torture humans for pure enjoyment as well, find remarks such as this extremely amusing.

Please keep us up to date on this, Sifu.

I've had a lot of irons in the fire: Ron and Shadow in VA, helping Pariah and Skeptic locally, not to mention Agency work ... but I did call the school. The used tents were donated by a local business, "established in 1999".

Which leaves me with several questions I need to ask a necromancer, but whenever we meet one, the Society winds up killing them. (I'm sure that is just a coincidence.) I might give KT a call.

What can I say -- defiling the dead to power your black magic is a hazardous occupation. It got Windner killed five or six times, at least.
