Here is an interesting article that asks a very interesting question, "Why do Spirits appear to people wearing clothes?" While my studies have shown that spirits are actually not the person in question but an entity projecting an impression, it is an interesting question.
What does everyone else think?
Why do spirits wear clothes?

Re: Why do spirits wear clothes?
I think it would be logical, wouldn't it? If it's an imprinted creature like you say, then logically, the "imprint" would remember clothes.
Re: Why do spirits wear clothes?
Yes, but I am far from a scientist (Debunker can vouch for this) and it is less a scientific fact than my personal theory on the subject.
Interestingly enough is that spirits in other cultures appear in different ways than spirits in America. Why is this the case? Wouldn't a Japanese or Chinese spirit appear the same way as an American one if it was just picking up the impression and giving it life?

The spirit world is pretty wide in nature and how it interacts with our physical world is also diverse.
Sometimes the viewer is projecting what he thinks the apparition should look like. Sometimes the apparition doesn't want to take off its favourite suit in life. It's not uncommon for apparitions to occur in a cultural context either, for a host of reasons - many spirits are not trying to scare people, so they often appear in ways they think won't be scarey or traumatic.
Recall some of Sasha's stories he's posted here involve spirits that replay certain actions over and over. Other incidents have very little details about the setting (including the spirit's clothing).
