What do you believe in?

I thought this would be an interesting thing to see. Exactly what each one of us truly believes goes bump in the night out there.
Everyone is free to post their own beliefs, but I would ask that you refrain from commenting on someone else's. This is a free and public board and each is allowed their own point of view.
To start, I am a firm believer in the psychic world around us and the ability of some to manipulate it. I believe that magic is also a real part of this world and their are creatures of both that effect our world in ways standard science cannot explain.
I do not however, believe there are little green men from outer space. I've yet to see evidence that makes me believe otherwise, but if some would present itself (and be independently confirmed) we can talk about it.
Likewise, while I am fascinated by cryptozoology and love posting links to stories of those mythical creatures. I am not all that sure they really exist out there. Too many hoaxes have been uncovered of supposed evidence and I tend to take them with a grain of salt. But again, the topic is something of a guilty pleasure.

I beleive that there are things out there that we don't understand.
I beleive that some of these things lurk in the shadows of our cities, waiting for a chance to turn the innocent and unsuspecting into victims.
I beleive I should be out there stopping it from happening.

I believe in the cycle of re-incarnation. I believe that the Kami watch over and even answer those who remember them. I believe that Guatma Siidhartha found a way to finally be released from this eternal cycle, and told others of the path that he took to achieve his goal.

The gist of this seems to be what we beleive these creatures and entities to be.
Many, perhaps even most are extradimensional in origin. To understand these beings and entities it would first be necessary to understand their home environment. It is fairly rare that we have such oppurtunities.
But some of these things seem to find their origin in our own native worlds.
My godfather has an interesting theory about that.
Magic, he tells me, is a naturally occuring energy source that is responsive to biological stimuli. Disciplined mental exercises can shape it and manipulate it in predictable patterns. But what of undisciplined minds?
He also tells me that magic energy both flows around the world and occasionally pools in different locations. Where this energy flows and pools, it attracts the extradimensional entities I described initially. But even when such beings are not present, their memory often lingers in the minds of those who have encountered them. That memory becomes distorted with time and the telling of tales.
So when people, with their intelligence and imagination are in these areas of intensified activity, they recall past strange happenings. Or else they sense the energy on a primal level and do not understand it. The energies in these locations respond to this stimuli. Perhaps a faint apparition is formed and seen.
The witness to this event then reports it back to their contemporaries. He describes it and give it form in the minds of others. Then these others pass through this area with that image more firmly in their minds.
Over time, these energies repeatedly respond to the same or similar stimuli until something more concrete is conjured. And once given form, is free to wander out from its point of origin.
When these experiences are pleasant and peaceful, then the conjured being, the living magic if you will, is likewise pleasant and helpful. But more often, people fear what they don't understand and so these creations are reflective of that fear. What's more, having been created and given form by fear, seek it out.
It's an interesting theory but one that is unsubstantiated at this time.

I believe that creation is boundless. Nuff said.
