I'm sorry... Farewell.

I'm leaving the Society. In preparing for a second child, taking care of a first child who has increasing needs, increasing my houseworkload as Lex is increasingly more laid up, and holding down my job--which is as demanding as it always is, I find I don't have the time I once had for this.

The people we save in the night...they need somebody. Anybody who can help will do. They don't need--specifically--me... My children (even those not yet in my life), my wife, my pets...they need me, specifically, by name. It's to them that I have my first obligations...and my obligations have been so great, lately, that I don't even know what's going on in public on the boards since I last posted here...however long ago that was.

Ron, I got your PM... I don't know if you need that kept hush-hush for OpSec reasons, or if everyone else here already knows, but I wanted to say, I'll keep my eyes and ears open. If anything comes of your warning, I'll let you know. It's been an extreme honor and pleasure to work with you; I doubt our paths have finished crossing, so I'll look forward to the time we can work again.

Hannah, please try to listen to your father. He's a great man, and he has enough on his plate without worrying about how your friends are helping you get into trouble... You're a good kid, and your heart is always in the right place; I don't doubt that, and not a day goes by that I don't think back to the day we got you out of the compound, and smile. I'm very glad to have made your acquaintance, and as I told your father in the previous paragraph, I'm sure we'll meet again...

Eilonwy, take care of yourself. You're the second person to prove to me that blindness need not be a handicap... You and Ron make a great couple. Take care of him, too, and keep up the good work.

Master Long, keep on fightin' the good fight. I've always looked up to you--in more ways than just literally...though that is certainly one way I'll always have to look up to you. More than that, your creativity and your way with words will always hold a place in my heart. Your way with monsters, on the other hand, will always make me glad I'm on your side. I'll try to drop by the dojo from time to time, maybe when I have vacation available, so since you're in town, this shouldn't be goodbye, either.

Li-sensei, good luck to you in all your endeavors. May you find the peace you seek.

To our Russian friends, take care of yourselves, and thank you for everything you've done for us. I wish our paths could've crossed more than they did, and I wish I could spare the time to make a social call in your homeland, sometime...but right now, that's just a pipe dream, so I'll just wish you guys happy hunting.

To Bearshaman, if you're still around, good luck with everything. We need more spiritualists in the world... Ours is a dying faith, it seems. Take care, and may the spirits guide your path and watch over you.

Konrad, good luck in your endeavors. If you need anything, drop me a PM, and I'll help you however I can.

Benjamin, I'm not a big fan of fish. I just thought I'd get that off my chest...'cuz in the case of your barbecues--the few I've been able to attend--I've made rather notable exceptions. Keep up the fine cooking, and happy hunting to you, my friend. I hope your new location brings you all the joy you hoped it would.

Kelly, thanks again for watching Julian the night I ran off to help Ben. You're one of the good ones. Take care of Ben and Molly, alright?

Ethan Skinner, I didn't get much of a chance to meet you, but I enjoyed our little chats by PM, the few we had.

Michael T, I know I can count on you to finish up the thread I started so long ago, in the Philosophy board, the one that was going to cover the general overview of all the different kinds of magic in the world... If I can trust anyone to finish that one, it's you. You're a fantastic father, and a good friend. Happy hunting.

Greydawn, Sophoroto, I didn't get much of a chance to meet either of you, either, but I always enjoyed our conversations as well. You both bring unique perspectives onto the board, and your experience and abilities have been a great asset to us here. Thank you for giving us your help.

Angel, I was glad to help you out when you needed it. Your attitude and your bluntness has always been refreshing...mostly because we seem to see eye to eye on so very much, I'll admit. Take care of yourself... You have my phone number if you need me.

ShadowStalker, take care of Angel, but do remember, she needs her breathing room, too... You're a good man, and an excellent soldier. The same goes for everyone in your team. Keep it up.

Cameron Thorne, I hope you find what you're looking for. I'm sorry I couldn't help you with it. I know you've been looking for a peace that has been eluding you for forever... Good luck.

Finally, Pendragon, it's been an honor to work under you, sir. You're an inspiration to us all. Take care of yourself, and keep taking good care of this branch of the Society.

To everyone else in the Society, as always, happy hunting, and stay safe. If I didn't mention you by name here, it isn't that you weren't important to me... It could be that I don't think you'll ever read these boards again (and you've just proven me wrong), or that I just didn't get enough of a chance to know you well enough to feel comfortable saying anything directly to you. Take care of yourselves, anyway.

I want everyone to know, this isn't goodbye forever... I will definitely drop by after Victoria's born, and give everyone updates. I'll update my photo album (it needs it badly), if nothing else, as a reminder for why we've all been out there fighting. Maybe, someday, if time permits, I'll become an active member once again, so Pendragon, please keep the account warm for me.

In the immortal words of Vera Lynn...

We'll meet again,
Don't know where, don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again,
Some sunny day...

Keep smiling through,
Just like you always do,
Till the blue skies drive the dark clouds
Far away...

So will you please say hello
To the folks that I know,
Tell them I won't be long...
They'll be happy to know
That as you saw me go,
I was singing this song...

We'll meet again,
Don't know where, don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again,
Some sunny day...

No apology is necessary at all.

Next time I have holiday, I'll stop by. :)

Thank you, Josh . . . for everything. And good luck. Keep your dolls close, your children closer, and your wife closest.

No need to apologize, you have done more than your share of the work. We all need to take time off from the hunt, and realize that life is more than fighting. Take good care of the kids, you are raising the next generation to take up the stand against those things that go bump in the night.
Be careful, be good. Keep you gaurd up as well, just because you are leaving here doesn't mean that the things we fight against won't remember you. I have sent some gaurdians your way. Just a few Spirits of Whimsey that owe me a favor. Meet them after a long night of drinking...oh, the pain remembering that night brings back...
We will be here if you need us. Take care and good luck.

Raise those kids right, and don't yank out to much hair in the process. :o

Hi KT

I can't thank you enough for helping save me and for taking care of me when Dad wasn't able to.

Hannah

PS: I'm still willing to babysit anytime you need me too.

Take care out there, KT. I mean it. We never got to meet, but you're one of the ones that I would definately want at my back when things got real. You take care of your family now. If you do that half as well as you take care of the things that go bump in the night, and the Society, they'll never want for anything, and have everything they could ever want.

We'll keep our eyes open for you to show back up.

Quick update: Lex and I are going in for a C-section this Saturday afternoon. The baby is upside-down, backwards, and has her feet around her head...which is not as painful as it sounds...for the baby. For Lex, it basically means she can't give birth naturally. We went in last week to try and get the baby flipped, but she refused to budge even an inch...so, C-section it is.

I'll pry post details on Sunday. Hope everyone's doing well.

Take care!

Hi KT,

You and Lex and the baby will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hannah

PS: We're okay, take care of Lex and those babies for us.
